The air hinted of Eli Harvey's scent, a musky smell. I would swear that he had been in my dreams, for his smell would still linger near. Eli's smell, just his smell, made me turn immediately.
There he was, his eyes watching me.
I walked extemporarily over to him, trying to give him time to realize my intentions before going over. I craved Eli. I looked at his face. A taught smiled was pulled over his cheekbones when he saw me.
" You look pretty happy today." I trailed my fingers through my hair. Eli's eyes glinted with sparks of hope.
He nodded slightly, " I am, It's a pretty great day." his smile softened, and he licked his parched lips in anxiety. Eli didn't notice my scrutinization on his face. His eyes searched wanderously in the air, looking for a place to start the conversation.
I see him rub his clammy palms together, he is not saying anything. Maybe I was wrong all along. This was after all just like that day, with her and the punch.
Then with a strong look of determination he spoke "Wanna go out?" My heart raced, blood pumped in my ears, goosebumps were etched across my arms. I was incredulous at first, but his warm brown eyes reassured me.
He braced himself, squared his feet. His eyes squinted in anticipation. I was not like her, I wouldn't go that far, even if I didn't adore him.
I took a deep breath and slowly leaned in ,so he can hear me "Sure." a smile curled out on his face, and I joined in. A breath escapes both of us, he seems to be thinking for a moment.Debra was wrong, very, very wrong.
This is the end of my life, and the start of my heaven.
