It's been a month since Jimin left Yoongi for those two weeks and somehow - maybe a magic force, Jimin didn't know - their relationship became a bit stronger. Not the best, but they were getting there.
While Jimin was at Namjoon's house, he really thought over where their relationship took a turn; where all the fights began. And Jimin thinks it happened the moment their 2nd year anniversary came around.
That was the year Yoongi decided to start pushing Jimin away, locking him out. Not physically, but mentally. Yoongi wouldn't tell Jimin what was wrong. He kept everything bottled up, instead of just talking to Jimin about it, like he usually does.
Yoongi had told himself multiple times that he was fine and didn't need Jimin's help. This continued on for 2 months.
Jimin didn't know how he survived that long without Yoongi. Well, Yoongi was there, but not there. He barely spoke and barely left the house. Jimin made sure he was eating and taking care of his hygiene, though.
Jimin felt like Yoongi's caregiver rather than boyfriend. However, Jimin didn't mind. He assumed his boyfriend was going through something, which was a correct assumption.
When Yoongi had came back, he acted as if nothing happened. He was smiling and giving Jimin his attention again. This confused Jimin, but he let it slide because his Yoongi was back.
He thinks he made the wrong choice.
Yoongi started hanging out with Jungkook a lot more than usual. Jimin understood that they've been friends since middle school, but Yoongi had started giving him more attention than Jimin.
Still in that year, Yoongi had woken up with a headache after a night out with Jungkook. Jimin was furious because Yoongi had work that morning and an important meeting he couldn't miss.
There was yelling, slamming doors and walls, and things being thrown heard throughout the house. Jimin was surprised the neighbors hadn't called the cops. Or maybe they did. Jimin doesn't remember.
All he knows is that's where everything went wrong. After that, they started fighting more and more.
Despite their fighting, there was never a day they didn't exchange I love you's at the end of it. It was more of a reminder; as if to say that no matter what they go through, they still love each other.
And they did.
As they lay in bed tonight, Jimin sighs as he ran his fingers through Yoongi's hair. He could feel at the roots it was starting to get greasy. Yoongi need to wash his hair soon.
"I'm sorry."
Jimin had said it quietly, pressing his lips lightly against Yoongi's. He rested his forehead against Yoongi's, closing his eyes.
Jimin didn't want to be awake right now. He wanted to sleep, go to dreamland where everything was fine. Where Yoongi and him weren't fighting.
Yoongi sensed his boyfriend's discomfort and wrapped his arms tightly around Jimin's waist.
"What's wrong, baby?"
Yoongi still had his eyes closed, so Jimin decided to keep his shut, too.
"Can't sleep."
"What's stopping you?"
"Too many thoughts."
"About?"
He opened his eyes and was met with Yoongi's brown ones. Even in the dark, Jimin could see his eyes were begging to let Yoongi help.
"Us."
"Mmm."
"Why do we fight so much?"
Yoongi has always asked himself that, but could never find an answer.
"I don't know."
"I think I do. Remember when you left me? It was after our 2nd anniversary, and you left me for 2 months, lost in your own head. Then you came back, as if nothing happened. As if everything was fine."
Yoongi wanted to say hell no. But, of course he remembers. He doesn't want to remember, though. Yoongi hated those 2 months. He couldn't gain back control of his body, he couldn't take care of Jimin like he wanted. He couldn't let Jimin in, most importantly. So badly had Yoongi wanted to tell Jimin why he was acting that way, but the words wouldn't come out.
It's been 2 years and he still hasn't told Jimin. Jimin never brought it up, either until now.
"Yeah. I remember."
"I'm not going to ask what happened to you during that time. I'll wait. If I waited 2 years, I could wait 2 more. But, when you came back to me, you acted different. Going out back to back with Jungkook. Barely even sparing me a glance. Remember when we argued so badly that one morning?"
"And the neighbors called the cops?"
So, they did call the cops.
"Yeah. That's when everything went to shit. I don't know how we manage to still say I love you and mean it."
Yoongi had almost got arrested that morning. The police thought he was abusing Jimin because Jimin had a scar on his cheek, and a bruise on his arm. He got the cut from smashing a vase against the wall next to him, the shattered glass reaching him. The bruise... Yoongi doesn't remember.
"Love conquers all. It's the most powerful emotion a human can feel."
Jimin put his lips on Yoongi's. They didn't move or anything, they just sat. Yoongi likes this "kiss." It makes him feel safe, and Jimin knows this.
"I love you...so fucking much."
"I love you...so fucking much more."
