"Hurry up!" Austin yelled from the other side of the bridge. James smiled as his friends egged him on. 'You'll be fine, I'm sure it won't break!' Jason encouraged. James before stepping in to the decaying bridge. He was always nervous of bridges. He still remembered the time when he was three years old. He was crossing a bridge whith his mother when she fell in. No one was around to help and all he could do was stand and watch as his mother struggled for air before sinking below the surface and never reappearing.  The bridge rocked as a violent gust of wind surged through the frayed ropes. The creaking of the bridge got louder - and louder still, echoing through the woods while his friends watched. Stepping forwards further, James felt a plank beneath his feet start to give way, so he moved his foot back. " come on James, don't be a coward!" Sneered Leo. Suddenly the planks surrounding his feet snapped and James started to fall.

Sinking below the surface, James could faintly hear friends laughing and starting to walk away, not knowing James couldn't swim. A trail of bubbles floated up as he let out his last breath. His eyes fluttered shut. It was pointless to struggle. And then it was all over.
