After the war(PJO and HoO fanfic)

Chapter 2

Antonio's POV

I was standing behind Chiron, I had just arrived at camp, so e was giving me a tour. He took me to a repair shop of sorts. In the middle of the woods. Carved out of a solid CLIFF FACE! Anyways he called it bunker 9. I think that's not important, he told me some heroes were returning from a war and he wanted me to meet them. As we walked in I heard some jokes that I really didn't understand. Something about a hole in a dam or something, I'm not sure. I turned the corner behind Chiron and then saw him, Nico DiAngelo himself, my best friend, and maybe more. But I hadn't seen him in years. He should be dead, though I was glad to see him.

We locked eyes then I was sucked into a memory. I was 9 and he was 8, we were in Italy, I was on the run , it was the 1940-50s and I was on the bad side of child services. My parents abandoned me when I was a baby, so I never knew them. I grew up on the streets of Italy. One day I was in the park, looking through the trash for food, when he came up behind me and offered me some of his lunch. He told me hi name was Nico. We talked for awhile before his mom and sister came around. Nico, against my will told them my situation. So they had me stay with them. For three years Nico and I became closer than close. I knew that child services were closing in on me. So one day Nico and I went to the park where we first met. We sat under an oak tree, we were talking, joking and laughing, but things were tender then. I told him I had to move on soon, I had been in one place too long. We looked into each other's eyes. He nodded as a tear slid down his cheek, then he wrapped me into a hug. I looked at him, and hugged him back. After a few seconds out faces were coming closer and closer. Then I leaned forward, so did he. Our lips connected, and sparks flew. Even louder and brighter and sharper than any holiday firework I have ever seen...
