Two children play make believe,
not a care in the world.
Never been scarred, burned or hurt.
Wearing their hearts on their sleeves, falling in and out of
"love" but a tear was never shed.
As time passed, the children got older
and their hearts became hidden,
due to the scars,
burns
and wounds that made it
Useless
The children,
no longer children,
didn't play make believe, they cared about unimportant things
and forgot about the important.
The two children are similar in more ways than one. They no longer love as easily
and tears are shed daily.
But the two children are happy,
because they have each other
The children laughed and smiled together
But the girl's smiles
Became fake
Hardly every real
But the boy didn't notice
This made the girl's smile
Become more and more fake.
Then one day she snapped
Her broken heart died completely
She tried to fight the monsters inside her
But she was only left with battle scars.
The boy saw those.
He tried to help
And her dead started to have the faintest beat
But he ran when she needed him most
And the soft murmur that her heart had started to develop
Stopped all together
The boy had changed
Once again
He had become something the girl didn't recognize
He wasn't the same boy she had grown to love
He looked like the same boy
But his damaged heart had
Changed
Worse then her dead one
But none the less
Neither one knows who bended first
Only that it happened
And they slowly fell apart
The children
No longer children
Were hurt
And scarred beyond belief.
They never cry
For fear of showing their
True emotions.
The children
No longer loved
But the girl's heart now has the faintest beat to it.
