Lucious
I watched the entire thing in horror. Cookie collapsed on the floor with a thud. Jamal and Hakeem started to freak out. I quickly rushed over to them. I got down on my knees and pulled my true love up against my chest while telling them to call an ambulance. Tears stung my eyes, but I wouldn't let them fall. I have to be strong for all of us. For Cookie.

"Cookie Monster wake up for me please," I pleaded even though she might not be able to hear me. No movement, no response. I don't think I even felt her breathing. Hopeful it was just my imagination. Minutes later the paramedics came in with a gurney. They strapped her down onto it, pulling her down the hall with me close behind.

"Sir do you have any idea how this may have happened," The taller one asked me.

I shook my head. "All I know is that she came into work looking pale."

They loaded her into the ambulance and asked me did I want to ride with them. Of course I said yes. I wasn't gonna leave her side no matter what. The entire ride to the hospital was quiet. The only thing I did hear were the sirens going off along with the small heart monitor.

Thank God that she is at least still breathing, I probably shouldn't have thought that because the monitor suddenly started to beep faster.

"Hurry! We have to get her to ER stat!" I heard one of them yell. I didn't even notice that we were there. That was freaking quick. I followed them as they rolled her down the hall toward the ER. A doctor came up to me and stopped me from going any further.

"Mr. Lyon in afraid you can't go--"

"Man that's my wife you're talking about!" I yelled even though we weren't married. You already know how hospitals are, they don't let you see them afterwards because their not 'family'.

"I understand that but we have to run some tests to figure out what caused this."

Calm down Lucious....this is for Cookie, this is all for Cookie, I told myself then took a deep breath. If it would've been anyone else I would've snapped their neck already. As calmly as I could, I went into the waiting room.

5 hours later....
Jamal, Hakeem, Andre, Rhonda, Becky, and Porsha were all here. At this point I was about to get someone fired. It has been five hours damnit! I haven't gotten any word from the doctor yet. The boys tried to keep me calm for a little minute, but that ain't working. All sorts of thoughts ran through my mind.

What if she doesn't make it?
How am I suppose to watch after the boys by myself?
Who is going to tolerate me?
Why did I ever let her go?
Who will hold me down?
Who will I laugh with from time to time about stupid things?
Most importantly, who am I gonna spend the rest of my life gushing and loving over?

There was Anika, but she's not Cooks. She can never replace or even step up to Cookie's level. All she is good for is a somewhat good lay and publicity. I've been meaning to break it off with her for a hot minute. Maybe it'll be arranged this week.

"Mr. Lyon....we have some good news and some bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"

"What's the good news," I responded.

"Well she overdosed on stress relieving pills called Harponium (made up). These haven't been approved yet for use so I don't know how or where she got them from. Anyways, the tests found about three to four months worth of the stuff in her system. We managed to remove most of the toxic, but...."

Lord please don't let it be something terrible.

"There is a tiny portion, maybe about 0.1%, left in that includes side effects. Ever since we finished up the surgery and she woke up, she's been extremely shaky, sometimes loopy, and for a couple of minutes she forgot who and where she was."

Rhonda covered her mouth, in shock. "Oh my god."

The doctor chimed back in. "BUT you are in luck because a new medicine has been approved for these types of situations. It's been proven to work by thousands just this morning."

We all sighed in relief. After he gave us confirmation to go in, I went first. The door number came closer and closer toward me until it was right in front of my face. I took another deep breath then walking it. An instant sound of sobbing filled my ears.

Cookie was laying on her side facing away from me. The doctor really wasn't lying about the shaking. I could see it from all the way over here.

"Cooks," I said.

She didn't respond, just kept crying. It kills me to see her in so much pain. She doesn't deserve this. I went over to the bed, turning her around and pulling her into my embrace. My hands rubbed her back lovingly as she continued to let everything out.

My poor baby...
