Wake up early in the morning
Jump into the middle of the bed
Snuggle close in between them
Sunlight pours out of the window
Sunlight streaming from the big window
An old table and chair set that I love
Three spots set up, not yet four
Bare feet and pyjamas, a smile on my face
Long comfy ladybug pyjamas and bare feet
Tip-toe downstairs
Old TV set and coffe table
Cartoons in the quiet bright morning
The wooden patio in the quiet bright afternoon
With her, our new four
Matching clothes, to the zoo
My father
Outside playing "soccer"
Inside playing with her
Always taking pictures
My mother
A strange feeling as I look back
A weird sense of change overtook me
No buried deep in the shining abyss of the past
I long for what was and ask
Why couldn't it last?
