[*Hue = Temporary Squad HQ/Base]
-------------------------------------------------------------

"Tsuzikawa!"

"Retreat to the Hue for the time being, this mission is on hold!"

"Tsuzikawa!!"

The stairs seemed to be endless. I kept on climbing and climbing and climbing, to no avail.

The voice coming from the radio strapped to my shoulder mixed in and entwined with the rest of the ambience to create one big mess of a noise.

Police sirens crying outside, helicopter blades whizzing from very far away, I could hear it all, despite being halfway through a 20 story high building. Or atleast I thought I was halfway through.. there was no way I could tell, It felt like I've been climbing for hours now.

My grip on my gun becomes lousy as sweat drips from my hands. I'm exhausted. My body becomes heavy and I feel like soon, my legs won't be able to support me anymore. My sight fades for a couple of seconds before returning again.

Upon remembering why I'm here in the first place however, I feel a slight stir inside of me. A feeling as if the pain doesn't matter, what matters is that I get to the roof of this building right now.

I keep on running. I feel like I'm getting close. Close to that bastard, just a little bit more..

...

I see the last couple of steps, ending to what seems like flat ground, finally.

Before I realize it, I'm there.

The roof of the building is a wide square. A completely empty concrete ground lays before my eyes. Some parts cracked, others smooth, but I couldn't care less.

Because there, he stood.

Far to the end of the roof, stands a figure clad in black. At first, I can barely differentiate him from the surrounding darkness of the merciless night, but my eyes adjust.

I begin to tell the loose-fitting robe he dons. His wide, elbow-length sleeves dance as the cold wind passes by.

He stands facing me, but I don't see his face.

As the reports have indicated, his face covers behind a black half-mask with a long, sharp beak that points to the ground. The lower half of his face is uncovered.

His lips curl into a cold, mad smile; it nearly reaches the edges of his eyes.

Upon seeing that, I finally return to my senses. This is him, this is the bastard.. the one that killed Marude.. he's the one!

Adrenaline rushes through my body until it fills up every limb on me. And then some more; it nearly gushes out through my mouth and nostrills.

I know what I'm going to do. At last..

Kill.

I'm going to kill him!

I kick the ground beneath me as hard as I can, blasting off the concrete and leaving nothing but a trail of dust behind.

My gun on my right hand, I lift it towards him as I run.

A loud pop explodes, a flash of light blinds everything for a moment as the gun jumps a bit.

The loud, deadly sound ripples across the space between us.

I don't hesitate, tightening my grip, my finger jerks on the trigger again.
Another empty shell hits the ground, but I'm not done yet. I can't see him, but I pull on the trigger one last time.
