I open my eyes, the sound of birds happily chirping hits my ears. I sit up straight as I recognize that I'm most definitely not in my room. I let out a sigh as I remember all the events that occurred yesterday. I sniff the room for a bit as I slightly recognize a faded scent but it was so light I couldn't put a finger on it. I don't recall anyone being in here with me last night except for the guard. The house was silent, so silent it made me feel uncomfortable. I get up and make my way towards the ensuite in my room.

The bathroom was breathtaking, it had marble tiles and a beautiful dark black concrete flooring. The bathtub was huge and the glass shower took my breath away. The double sinks were beautiful, everything about this house was just charming. It was hard to believe this place was really real. I take off my dirty clothes and walk into the shower, the hot water coats my skin as I sigh in relaxation.

I cringe at the thought of putting my dirty clothes back on but I wasn't going to leave this room with just a towel. I put my filthy clothes back on from yesterday and head down the long stairs.

I reach the kitchen area and am surprised by a happy looking woman setting up the table. "Hello dear you must be the girl that was sent here last night, my names Sarah I'm the maid for the Alphas house. I hope you like waffles dear" she smiles at me as she gently nudges me to sit on one of the elegant looking dining table chairs.

She sits down next to me in one of the chairs and smiles "If you have any questions just ask me and I will do my best to answer them"

"Thank you" I smile at her "My names Danica" her face lights up "What a beautiful name" she replies. I give her a warming smile, "Eat you look hungry" she says as she pushes forward the plate full of delicious looking waffles.

By god was she right, I was starving I hadn't eaten in a long time.

The food was divine, I got up to wash the dishes but I was stopped by Sarah "no no dear its my job" she shakes her head and takes the plate away from me. "Its fine Sarah I can wash my dishes, you made me the amazing waffles I think I can manage washing up" I smile at her. "No no plus Alphas orders" she smiles at me before telling me to explore the mansion and get to know the place a bit better.

I was confused, why was I here? The alpha didn't even look interested when he saw me. I'm his mate? Arnt I?  Maybe I was just going crazy and was shocked at how perfect and powering the man was. I mean I've never met my mate so I don't know how it feels.

I walk around the mansion and find myself in front of a closed door, my mind told me not to walk into the room but my body forced myself to have a look in the room. I push the door open, i gasped at what I saw in front of me. Hundreds no thousands of books littered the room, There were shelves and rows of books. I loved books, in my spare time at the pack house I'd read and read. My parents used to shake their heads and laugh 'our little bookworm' theyd say. I missed my parents.

I missed my Mom and how she used to braid my hair when I was still a young girl, I used to tell her everything she was like my best friend. My dad, the strong Alpha of the pack. I missed him as much as I  missed my mom. I miss how protective he was of my mother and I. I missed my family, my pack.

My parents were so in love, I used to dream of having a mate bond like them. Their bond was everything a wolf would want. They loved each other, deeply and strongly. No one could tear them apart, except for the rogues that killed my pack. Although I was broken on the inside a part of me felt better knowing my parents were together in the mood goddesses hands.

One by one tears fell from my eyes,  my body lay on the soft expensive looking couch. This was all my fault, I practically killed my pack. It was my fault the rogues found me while I was going for a run in the middle of the night. They found me and I ran, I ran all the way back to the pack house but they had attacked. I should have been the one taken but they took everything I loved.

I felt raw, tears covered my cheeks and more escaped.

"What are you doing in here?" The sound that warmed up my body, the smooth angelic voice. I turn around and face the man that stand in front of me. I viciously wiped my tears on my face and got up. His eyes were hard but I saw the look in his eyes when he saw me wipe away my tear stained face. Concern and regret?

"Nothing" I mumbled looking at anything but him. "The packs on lockdown, the rogues that were chasing you are in my territory, don't leave this building until the lockdown is over" The stern voice he used told me he wasn't joking.

I nod my head and head towards the door making my way to the room I had stayed in previosuly.
