It was midnight as I signed off the office. Everything was quite as always except for the light in the kitchen. I crept closer and see Aurora grabbed a jug if milk and a cookie.

The door creaked open as I enter and Aurora, startled, dropped the jug of milk.
"I'm so sorry boss I didn't mean to--" I waved a hand and smiled to know that it was okay.
"It's fine. There's no use crying over a spilled milk. Anyways, what are you doing here in midnight?"
"Well the stocks were surprisingly demanding payments and each and everyone of them had their deadlined tomorrow."

Aurora is impressive. She likes her work to get done and she has this fear of deadlines. It was just weeks since she was employed and now she works like as if she was employed for a decade with her doubletime, good leadership, and she is good in handling her fellow co-workers and an employee like that deserves a treat.

"That is impressive." I started. "Come with me. You deserve something better for that trouble."
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"Anywhere. As long as it pleases you." I replied as I reached out my  hand for her to hold.
"As long as you're pleased sir, I am too." She replied and took my hand.
"It's a win-win situation. Let's go. I know a place."

I cant have Violet have the knowledge on what the school's shitheads treat me. The teachers, students and staffs, all of them. She can be my friend without knowing that story. But how? What way must I do, for her not to know about me? The roof top was a fine place. The wind blew our hair backwards and Violet wiped her hair sidewards.

And on that moment, I was inlove.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

The roads were quite at this type of hour. Aurora had her hand on her chin as she stared on the city lights and empty streets of New York. The weather was perfect for a mini date with her. To my curiousity, she doesn'y look tired at all.

"Let me guess, you drank three or four mugs of coffee today." I started killing the peaceful quiteness. She started to smile and looked on my direction which was kind of intimidating with the fact that Aurora looks perfect in her smiles.
"Five boss. Had to get the work done." She replied.
"For a reward there Aurora, I grant you to select a restaurant for us to eat. And don't worry, it's my treat."
"Well I'm embrassed..." her voice trailed off as her cheeks started to turn red. "I told you boss, if you're pleased, I am too." She continued.
"If you want to please me, tell me a restaurant to which you are fund of." "Well it's fair play. McDonalds."
"McDonalds it is."

We went on a drive through and ordered two chicken, five extra large fries and two Coca-Cola drinks. The night was perfect and romantic and a best way to relieve from stress.

We were at a hill that can see the whole city. Aurora's eyes were full of excitement and she did again her mosy intimidating smiles as she stared on the beautiful city and it seems like all the happiness in the world sums up in her smile.
"It's beautiful." She admired. We both got out of the car and ate our snacks on the roof.

"Such an outer beauty isn't it?" Aurora asked looking straight with her eyes that were kind of mixed with sadness.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I was born and raised here in New York. My dad worked as a comic writer and my mother worked as an accountant. Both of them just blamed each other to their own problems. I remember the day when dad pointed a gun on mom's head and threatned her that if she doesn't shut up, he'll shoot her. Weird thing is, she didn't even tremble; she just stared at the fun confidently. Dad didn't do it though. As soon as I grew older, dad had his illegal wife and abandoned us and mom died of over working when I was ten. My aunt took care of me which was a crack head. The thing is, New York is beautiful when you see it from afar but when you lived inside it, work drives you mad just like what my dad did." She wept her tears tjat were running from her soft white cheeks and breathed deeply. "I'm sorry. I just get overly attached sometimes and I ended up sharing something." Aurora apoligized as she breathes calmly.

It was a comfort for her to share that type of problem. I felt guilty though knowing that someone's childhood is worse than mine. As long as the family stays together, you have a willing friend to comfort.
"Where is your aunt now?" I asked being interested of the topic.
"She's still with me. And still a crackhead." She replied still in tears.
"No wonder you loved staying out late."

She sat there in silence with the city lights reflecting her white face. The city was beautiful like her;  lights from her eyes that was filled with excitement and stories and a beauty from inside out. She is a rare person and she deserves to be preserved.

"Can I be a little bit nosy Aurora?" I asked. Aurora raised and eyebrow and waved her hair.
"What is it boss?"
"Where did you get your name? What's the story behind it?"
"Well it actually came from the story 'Sleeping Beauty' and from 'X-Men'. My mother said that when I was still in her womb, she used to tell me The Sleeping Beauty story and I will actually be asleep after she reads it. My father was a comic writer on Marvel and he was one of the writers of the super hero Storm from Xmen. So, when mom gave birth to me I was named after Aurora from sleeping beauty and Aurora from Xmen."

I took Aurora home last night safe amd sound. As soon as I got home, I immidiately crashed myself on the bed and fell asleep.

The next day I felt something that hit me. And that was my sister on her wake up call. She had her arse on my back and used me as a stool.
"What the fuck Ava?" I asked being pissed.
"Don't you remember?" She replied without looking in my eyes.
"Remember what?"
"The reunion."
