Taehyung
I tossed around in bed, sensing my Dad's presence. Dad. It's strange how using that simple word brought me to feel complete. Having a family again was something I thought would only remain a dream. A figment of my imagination. But the mortal's were onto something when they said dreams come true. Although I still consider myself a mortal, I know it's not true. After all I am Lucifer's son. Soon I'll no longer be mortal and have to uphold responsibility as the son of Lucifer. That idea still sent shivers down my spine. Before I became too entangled within my thoughts, I sat up and made my way out of his room. Stepping out I felt a plethora of serenity encompass me, persuading me towards its innocent scent. Soon I found myself standing in the entrance of a garden, at the sight of Namjoon I smiled.
"Dad!" I ran towards him, pebbles fleeing beneath my feet. After crashing into him and giving a tight hug, a figure beside me gasped.
My brows furrowed and I hid myself behind Namjoon. Not knowing who the being was, nor why he was staring at me with doe eyes. Namjoon cleared his throat before speaking.
"Tae, I'd like you to meet Seokjin."
I peeked out more, afraid of what my first impression may be.
"Taehyung I won't hurt you..." The angelic voice rang out.
I stepped around Namjoon and gaped at the sight. There stood a pale skinned man. Eyes big and full of life, hair seeming soft and aura seeming kind.
"We didn't get to meet before, I'm Seokjin. The ruler of the light realm, or Heaven if you must."
I knew who he was and I knew how special he is to my Father. Without any warning or hesitation I ran into Seokjin's arms and tightly hugged him. He was indeed surprised but hugged back nonetheless. Just then Namjoon came, wrapping his arms around the both of us. I giggled because I finally had a family again. I'm finally where I belong.
"Namjoon!" A shout broke us apart, Hoseok was tumbling our way, worry in his features.
"What is it?" Namjoon growled, upset at the timing.
"It's Jimin. H-He..." Hoseok fell to his knees, tears pouring out of his eyes. The mention of Jimin caught my attention. Did something happen to him?
"Spit it out, Hoseok." Namjoon knelt down and Hoseok gazed up.
"Someone took my Jimin." He mumbled through gritted teeth.
Seokjin then pulled me close to him, probably fearing I'd disappear as well.
"That just won't do." Namjoon grumbled, the atmosphere shifting as he helped Hoseok back to his feet.
When Namjoon turned back his eyes were a vibrant red which sent shiver's down my spine. Hoseok now had charcoal black eyes and waited behind Namjoon with his jaw locked.
"Don't harm anyone, please." Seokjin pleaded. It didn't shock me, he was Heaven's ruler.
"An eye for an eye." Namjoon barked out before leading Hoseok into a portal.
"How scary does he get?" I questioned, gaze still set upon the blank area where the portal once was.
With a sigh, Seokjin pulled me closer.
"Never get in his way when he's furious, doesn't matter how important or special you are to him. Rage swallows him up and once it has we can only hope for the best."
"Is that why you guys split up?" I looked at him, he returned the gaze and smiled gently.
"I suppose."
"Did he ever hurt you?"
The question caught Seokjin off guard. I was wildly curious and I knew Namjoon didn't like speaking about their past relationship.
"I knew how angry he gets. Yet everytime he did something wrong I couldn't help but let him know how disappointed I was in him. I was the match that set his flame, but I was also the wind that blew it out."
"What about you? Do you get angry?"
Seokjin hummed and began walking towards Namjoon's castle.
"I express my emotions differently. I don't harm those who've done wrong. I have people to do that for me."
I froze but continued to follow a few seconds after.
"So you use him. You use Namjoon to do your dirty work. You made him into an evil person! That's- That's not holy!" I shouted, feeling defensive about my Father.
Seokjin tsked before laying a hand on my shoulder.
"Without evil, there's no good. Always remember that, Taehyung. But also remember that good always defeats evil, 2 to 1."
"Are you implying you can beat my Father?" I gritted out, yanking my shoulder away from his touch. No longer liking his oh so kind aura around me.
"I could, easily. But why would I want to ruin my realms purity? It's a system, Tae. Our realms have their part in the way this all works. I don't do with punishing but I refuse to let unclean souls into my sanctuary."
"So my Father takes your failed children and tortures them all because you're a coward and don't want blood on your hands?!"
He frowned and shook his head gently.
"Taehyung, your Father chose to do what he does. He wanted power so he became unclean and then began going for my creations. Your Father produces the evil."
"Then why do you let him? Why don't you stop him?"
"Without evil there would be no concept of good. Everything needs its opposite in order to exist as a concept. Just like how day needs night, light needs dark, yin & yang, things of those sorts."
"You keep saying good can't exist without evil but that doesn't answer my question. Why does my Father have to be the bad guy in all of this?"
My tone was pleading. I didn't like how Namjoon is looked at. His image is tainted all because Seokjin wants to maintain a pure one.
"Your Father chose to. He wanted power, he wanted something to control."
"So he picked evil..."
Seokjin nodded slowly.
"Don't think any less of your Father. The system he created was for the better. It was genius on his part."
I didn't think any less of my Father, nor Seokjin for that matter. I've come to realize the system was built this way to create a more sufficient obedience amongst the mortals.
"Where do you think Jimin is?" I could tell he knew. I could tell my Father knew. How else could Namjoon make a portal leading somewhere? He didn't just travel to somewhere random.
"Let's just say there's a love triangle going on."
Before I could ask another question Seokjin went inside, leaving me to my thoughts. I was only a few feet away from the doors but I kept quiet, thinking of what he meant.
Hoseok, Jimin, and who else? Who's the other person in the triangle?
