Versing Yourself

Chapter 5

Today was the day!

The day of the competition everyone's been raving about, everyone was especially excited about the possible chance of ladybug coming and versing Marinette. Adrien already asked his Dad if he could go, for some reason he had nothing on today so he miraculously was free to go but come back right after the competition was finished. His driver 'The Gorilla' wanted to take him but Adrien said that he would be fine to go by himself.

Instead he was going as Chat Noir, he always felt better as his alter-ego, he used his baton and moved through the town and descended upon the place the comp was held, the stadium, so everyone could see. Luckily no one was there, just as he was about to release his transformation he was pushed. He was about to get his weapon ready and saw Ladybug. "Well hello milady." Ladybug said, "I NEED YOUR HELP!" Chat smirked, "I see, and what does my lady need help with?" 

Ladybug told him her plan and his eyes widened, "What?! Why would I..." Ladybug shushed him, "Chat. Do you trust me?" He nodded, "and I can trust you right?" He nodded again, "Then I REALLY need to you to do this, PLEASE! If you do I'll pretend to like your puns!" Chat flashed an evil grin, "That offer does seem purrty appealing." Ladybug was about to groan but instead she sarcastically said, "Oh.......that was so......funny." It felt like a little part of her died that day. Chat said, "Fine I'll do it. Hopefully this won't turn into a cat-astrophe." Ladybug pretended to squeal.

Soon both superheroes released their transformations for the competition. The Mayor did the normal introduction and rules, and started listing out the first round. Marinette was paired with this random girl with a huge attitude. She quickly beat her making the girl go crying to her mother. Meanwhile Adrien was paired with this random dude, he was nice, Adrien beat him.

After many rounds where Marinette and Adrien were smashing people, Max was also there because he was also really good and eating everyone. Adrien was paired with another random person and won. And we all know Marinette was victorious.

Now it was semi-finals. And fate be kind and paired Adrien and Marinette together. This could be the thing that could make or break. Adrien shook her hand for luck, and she just blushed. Tikki quietly said, "Remember to pretend that Adrien's someone else." Marinette nodded in confidence, she heard Alya's cheers and smiled. She chose her robot and started playing her best.

No surprise here, Marinette won, everyone was expecting that. Adrien congratulated her while while she muttered a thanks. One more round until she won, she was paired with Max. He was a tough opponent but she could do it. She and him played their best, using their powers against each other's robots but the victor was.........Max. Because he came in second place. WHILE MARINETTE WON THE WHOLE COMPETITION.

Chloe booed while her Father congratulated Marinette, "and your prize is that you get verse Ladybug. That is if she comes...." Marinette tried to look for Chat. He wasn't there.

Adrien muttered, 'I can't believe I'm gonna do this..." Plagg cackled while Adrien glared. "I always liked cos playing Ladybug. Just not in public...."
