Running. It's what kept me alive the past eight months. Trust me I'm not a huge sports person. At the facility the only time they let you outside was when the track was open. Turns out I like running.

I put my headphones on and left the house. It was 5 am so I knew my mom would be asleep. She's not a big fan of me leaving. I start to run.

When I run I'm not in this world. I'm in another that you couldn't possibly imagine. The burning sensation in my calves. The hard pounds beneath my feet. I lost track of time but then I stop. The song came on. This song.

Flashback

I had just spent the night at Jacksons. Things were starting to get better. I went into his bathroom to get ready.

I set up my phone to play my favorite song. Gold Guns Girls by Metric. (Look it up guys that song is lit.) "Lydia!" I heard Jackson yell. I flinched. "You woke me up with your dumbass music."

I gulp. "Jackson I'm really sorry." I say stepping back a little. He scoffs. "What even is this stupid song?" He grabs my phone. "I don't even get it." He yells. "Is it ever gonna be enough? Stupidest shit I've ever heard." I shake my head.

His head quickly turns to me. "What was that?" He yells. "N-nothing." I stutter. He pushes me onto the ground. "God your annoying." I pick up my phone.

"Of course you don't get it."

Flashback end

That's when I didn't see it. The car.

I jump out of the way at swerves off the road. I run over to the blue jeep to see who's it is. "I'm so sorry." We both say at the same time. The man gets out of the car and I see that it's stiles. "Oh Lydia hey." He says. "What are you doing here at 5:37 am?"

"I'm um I'm running." I say. "I have to go early because my mom doesn't let me out of the house." I cringe at how embarrassing I am. He just smiles and laughs. "I'm here because there's this awesome pancake place and they give you free ones till 7 am." Now it's my turn to laugh.

"Hey you should come." He says as his eyes light up. I gulp. "I don't know Stiles it's just." I don't continue. I don't have to I can see on his face he understands. He nods and starts to get in his car. He quickly turns around. I control my flinch. See I really did have therapy. "Just so you know Lydia I'm not him, not even close."

I sigh. Of course. "Stiles wait." I say. He stops and turns to me. "Do they have chocolate chip?" He breaks into a huge smile and nods. "I'm more of a classic guy myself but they do." I smile and get in the car.

He gets in, starts it and puts on music. "Lydia Martin you are something else."
