Imizo took a deep breath as she lined up next to the other examinees.

"And that's all for the written portion folks! Next up is your practical skills! And finally, the interview, got it? The practical portion will be judged in groups of six! When your number is called, proceed to the exam site...!" Present Mic screamed at them.

She stood less than patiently as two groups where called before her number was yelled out by Present Mic. Finally, in the last group Imizo's number was called alongside a few boys.

"The format of the exam is a 3km marathon. However, this is a course you cannot hope to cross by simply running! You're free to use your Quirks, and dash to the goal!"

Imizo stood to the right of a boy with half white and half red hair. As soon as the light signaling for the group to begin turned green, the boy shot ice from his right side.

If that's the case, dude, then I'll just tag along. Icy bastard.

Carefully, she controlled the air surrounding herself and the ice boy - as well as a second boy who appeared to use wind - to propel herself slightly behind. While doing so, Imizo also progressively increased the amount on air resistance against the boys. Instead of paying attention to the boys, she focused on the course ahead of her. Sliding beneath tree stumps and crossing canyon sized gaps, the girl gained more speed on the two boys in the lead. She could see the end of the course coming up.

Here goes nothing.

The girl increased her speed even more and began to melt the ice and slow the wind. After all, if you warm the air it becomes much harder for both their Quirks to function properly. Both boys looked over in a slight shock as she passed them by. Once in front, Imizo was guaranteed first. She crossed the finish line only a few seconds before the two boys, but that was all she needed.

"It's a photo finish! Number 13 hits the goal first by just a bit, followed by number 41 and number 23!" Present Mic shouts.

The girl in question walked over to Present Mic, the boy who used wind was shouting happily at the ice boy.

"How'd I do, Mic?" She asked softly attempting to look at his stopwatch timer.

"You did just fine!" He said loudly but thankfully didn't scream for once.

Imizo nodded and walked over to the sitting area. The girl sat and watched as the last three crossed the line one by one.

Present Mic screamed joyfully some more at the examinees. Finally, he lead them into a building, through a long set of hallways, and to another waiting area where one by one they were interviewed. Once the examinee was called and taken to another room they were dismissed to leave after the interview.

Imizo was called towards the middle of the group, due to the interviews being conducted in alphabetical order. As she followed Present Mic towards another room she looked at him with anxiety.

"It'll be okay, Imizo, just be yourself."

With one last gulp, she nodded and walked into the new room. There sat a friendly looking animal with a scar on his face. He smiled reassuringly, asking Imizo to take a seat.

"Tell me, Koriya, why do you want to be a hero?" He asked happily.

"I want to be a hero to save others, just like I was saved," with a gentle smile she continued, "Heroes are always putting themselves on the line to save people they don't even know. I think that's very cool - admirable would be a better word actually. I also have my personal reasons for wanting to be a hero; I have to prove to some people that I can and will follow the light that is being a hero."

The male nodded along, his smile never wavering. He continued to ask more questions, Imizo answering them genuinely, even causing the animal to laugh. Once he was finished, Imizo bowed lightly and thanked him for his time, then left the room. Outside she saw Mic waiting to retrieve the next student. She gave him a small smile, a wave, and began to walk to her home.
