I was watching June. A hobby I was not very proud of but, nevertheless had to be done. I am not to interfere and not to be seen. I follow her and I report back. It was just a normal day. That's what June thought as she left her house and hopped on her fathers old motorcycle to get to wherever she was going. Today was the day we would attack. June wasn't expecting it in the least. Since the death of her father she was no longer concerned with the inner workings of his business, although she knew everything about it.
She was in a hurry and didn't notice the parked black van outside of her house. I couldn't help but watch her as she sped down the street. I watched the unmarked vans follow her and turn the corner after her. At this point there was no turning back. I hopped in one of the vehicles in our caravan and we skidded onto the street after her.~•~June~•~
Soon after I turned onto the dirt path I take to get to my summer job. The unmarked vans were trailing me a tad too close for my comfort. I turned my head as adrenaline started to pump through my veins.
I heard the oh so familiar sting of gun fire ringing in my ears. Distracted as always, I hadn't even noticed them until now. With no weapons my only hope was to escape them by crashing into the wooded area next to me. I threw myself into the woods. My bike skidded off the road and the pain from the crash dug into me as I ran deeper into the forest. I ran for what seemed like hours and after hearing nothing but my heavy breathing and hard steps on the ground I stopped to catch my breath.
I heard faint footsteps and my heart leaped out of my chest. I pushed myself against a tree and as I tried to look over my shoulder to see if someone was there, I felt an intense pain on the back of my head. Soon, though, it felt numb and my vision began to blur.
The last thing I remember was a hauntingly familiar voice, "yeah, that's her".
