Chapter 9 The Call Button

Genova's POV

"What's brought you to town Cilla? The beautiful sights, or perhaps a special someone" I ask. She shakes her head "nothing like that" she swirls the straw in her drink around for a few moment "actually I've come to make up with my brother. We have had our share of disagreements in the past, but now I'm looking to put that all behind us."

I nod my head, thinking back to all the disagreements me and my siblings had. Mainly one unresolved argument pops into my head. Neco. We haven't talked since...

I can't even remember!

It's been so long since we just sat down and had a conversation. Too long. I wonder what Neco would say if I just called him up, out of the blue . Would he even want to talk to me?  He should, we are brothers after all.

"Hello!" Cilla calls as she frantically waves her hands in front of my face. "Huh?" I look up at her. "You were really spaced out for a while there, I was kinda scared you just dropped dead" Cilla voiced her concern. I smiled. My eyes snapped up to hers. "Sorry about frightening you" I apologize. "...just listening to you talk about your brother made me think of my siblings" I explain.

I toss the remains of my drink into a nearby garbage can and stand up. "It was nice meeting you, and I hope you make up with your brother" I say as I exit the coffee shop called Coffee Fee, and get into my car. I sit in the drivers seat for a moment, contemplating what to do.

I find his number in my contacts and my finger hovers over the call button. My finger slowly gets closer, then at the last moment I chicken out.

I just can't.

I drive back to me and my brothers business and park my car in the parking lot. 'What am I even doing here?' I think to myself. I get out of the car and use my key to enter the building. I flick on the light switch. "Holy shit man, you scared me!" I hear someone yell, with a thick Latin accent. I see the janitor standing there with a hand over his chest as he looks at me with wide eyes.

"So sorry, I didn't realize it was you. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Not really" I say. "Is there anything I can help you with?" I ask in return, needing something to get my mind off of Neco.

"No man, your the boss, and I've got to do my job."

"You have a family don't you? Go home, you should take the rest of the night off" I offer.

"Really?" He replies "if you say so, your the boss. Oh and if you were really serious about helping me out, one of the dressing room mirrors are broken."

"Go home, I got this" I say as I roll up my sleeves.

After he leaves I make my way to the dressing room only to see none other then Allic's mirror shattered into smithereens. Pieces of glass were everywhere! It looked like a bomb exploded inside his mirror. It was kind of horrifying. I grabbed a broom and a dustpan and got to work, as my thoughts continuously shifted between Allic, and Neco.

I've got to get one of them out of my head, which one is it going to be? I opened up my phone and searched my contacts before I clicked the call button.

"Hello..."
