one

another day, oh what a joy.
not really, I hated this place but we couldn't say that, matter of fact we couldn't say anything, why? Because they said it was a sin for us animals to talk, that's what they called us. Animals.

I didn't like that word but I couldn't say that either, I learned in a book I was reading the other day people weren't supposed to be called animals, people were supposed to have names like; Hope, Grace, Anna or my favorite Jamilah

I loved that name so I named myself Jamilah, it was African, I think I don't know but it's supposed to mean something I can't remember.

My sister, it's weird calling her that, I learned the word sister yesterday too, my sister Grace didn't like it here either. I learned a lot from books, they're amazing, I steal one every night from a place called a library, they have a library in this house, when I was able to walk I was wondering around and fell in love with the library.

My first time going in there I saw an old lady, she said she was in charge of the books, she said she's a book keeper, she asked if I wanted to learn how to read and I nodded my head smiling, the old lady, her name was mom, at least that's what I called her, that's what she told me to call her and I liked it, she was nice.

Mom was a very caring person, she'd wipe my tears and clean my cuts, mom said that she'd always take care of me and would help me escape one day, one day she'd get me out of this hell.

Oh! My sister, Grace, that's what I called her, she loved that name so I decided to call her.

Mom said we could pick any name we wanted to so we picked those names, mom loved both Grace and I, mom said she'd help us both escape.

Love.

That's a weird word, there's no definition for it, I asked mom what it meant she said there was lots of meanings for it and how they used wasn't right, mom said they didn't love us and that we should never believe it.

"Hey! Get up Bîtch!" I heard Master John.

We were supposed to call them Master, that's a weird word too, I didn't know why they liked it.

There were a lot of men here but the ones I mostly remember are, John, Greg, Bill, Larry and Kayden.

They owned this house.

Master Kayden was somewhat nice to me, he wouldn't let anyone touch me unless it was him, but if I disobeyed him he'd hit me, punch me, kick me, burn parts of my body, and whip me, he said I was his slave.

I didn't like being his slave, I didn't like the word slave, I don't want to be a slave.

Master Kayden said he loves me but mom told me not to believe that, mom said he was lying so I believed mom.

"Are you Fücking deaf!?" He yelled.

I felt a sting to my cheek, he hit me but it didn't hurt, I was used to it.

I quickly got up from the floor and looked down, we weren't allowed to look up at them.

"It's time to go mutt" he growled and pulled me by my hair, dragging me to the meeting room.
