" So how was school?" I asked Sophia as she sat next to me.
" It was good I guess."
" That's nice. Oh BTW I know that you were lying to me about how your crush was absent."
" How'd you find out?"
" Well you did the same thing that you did for Spanish so.."
" Alright fine he was there. But I didn't want to seem like I'm the weak one."
" Oh my gosh Sofia you're crazy. Did you know that?"
" Honey I have known that my whole life."
We cracked up.
"Who is your crush anyways?" I asked her.
" Not telling you."
" Come on you trust me don't you?"
" Of course I do it's just that..." she started to fidget around with her hands " I'm not sure if he's the one yet."
" Oh wow Sophia it's just a crush it's not like you're getting married or anything."
" I know but why would I waste my time on a guy who I'm not even gonna last with?"
" Preach sister preach. But can you please just tell me who it is?"
" UGGHHH!!! Fine! I have a crush on Sebastian.
" Sebastian Ortiz?!" I said in shock.

"I gotta give it to you. He is pretty cute."
" Ok good I thought I was the only one who thought he was cute."
" Are you kidding me? All the girls like him. Just like they like Evan..." my voice started to trail off.
" You okay?" she asked.
" Yea just forgot that I had a lot of homework to do." I lied.
" OMG same girl! Ms. Sanchez was being so rude that she gave us 3 pages of Spanish homework!

" Dang I feel bad for you. I got so much homework from history."

She started to laugh at me. " Haha. You got more homework than me!"

" Whatever." I rolled my eyes at her.

The Next Day

I can't take this anymore. I HAVE to know if the rumors are true. I already had to lie to Sofia about it cause I was embarrassed about the whole situation. You know what, I'm just gonna ask him. If it's true, then it wasn't meant to be. But if it's not true, then partytime!! I have Evan in my math class so I can ask him there. Hopefully I won't get nervous because like I said, I HAVE to know!

Math

It's time. Great. Now I'm nervous. No Elena you have to do this. Okay. Let's do this. EEEEKKKKK!!! He sat next to me!! That just made it a whole lot easier and harder. It will be easy because then I can just ask him instead of having to ask him if I could talk to him in private. It will be hard because if the rumors are true, it will just be awkward. " Just mad about the math test next week."

" Same! Mr. Marcus even made me do two extra pages just for asking Lucas what the page number for the assignment was."

" Haha. Well that's what you get for talking to Brandon the whole class."

We laughed so hard that Mr. Marcus said if we don't do our work, he will give us ten pages of homework! So we had to whisper.

" Can I ask you something Evan?"

" Sure."

" Is it true about all those rumors?"

" Oh the ones about how Celeste and I are going out?"

" Yep that's the one."

" Nah I don't even know who started that rumor. You of all people should know that I do not like Celeste. At ALL!"

" Yea I was pretty surprised when Sofia told me about it."

" Celeste keeps on trying to flirt with me and it's so annoying. I bet it was her who started those rumors."

I thought it over in my head. "Probably."

" Then who do you like?" I know I can't believe that I asked him either!

" Cause then I can pair you up with her." I lied.
