I walked into my dorm after ms.Hudson let us go and glanced at the two beds. One on either side of the room and I raised my eyebrow. A girl, who looked about my age, was laying on the bed to the left. She looked up slightly then returned her eyes to the book in her hands. I sat onto the empty bed and faced her. "So.. "I squinted, trying to read the book title."Percy Jackson. The movies are great huh?" I smiled trying to make her laugh. She slowly shuts her book and sits up, facing me.
"Are you serious?" She stares at me.
"Nope. Not at all," I smile at her.
She smiles back and I hold out my hand. "Aspen Grace-"
"Raegan Chase, but you can just call me Rae" she shakes my hand.
"Nice to meet you, Rae." I smile and cross my legs. "And you as well," she nods.
"Wait, you weren't at training.. why not?"
"Oh yeah, I've already done part of the training. Last year I was pulled out of training because,"she pulls the sleeve of her shirt up so I can see a scar. "I got shot in the arm. " I leaned forward slowly and lightly touched her scar.
"I'm sorry. That.. that really sucks." She smiled slightly and nods.
"It's fine. It's healed but at the time it was very scary. It was also scary because since i was already in training they refused to tell my parents about my condition. Now they know I'm alright but that's not the point. "
The door slowly opens and ms Hudson pops her head inside and quickly shouts," go to sleep-" before shutting the door and proceeding to the next dorm. I look to Rae and nod," I can change in the bathroom and you'll change here?"
"Alright. Thank you. "
