Rebecca woke up to a loud crash sound from downstairs. Once again trees were thrown down, birds homeless, and a yard full of grass. Rebecca wandered downstairs, to check if her parents had beaten her there. They were sitting at the table, looking like they're frozen. Rebecca's Mum still sipped her tea, keeping her head still. Rebecca's Dad read the newspaper, keeping his head still.

"Errrrrr guys," she alarmed, "are you OK?"

They didn't move a muscle. Last night they thought about telling Rebecca the real reason they hated christmas. But then they realised they thought wrong. The wind howled and made the kitchen door fly open, making Rebecca go and heave it shut again. The day was as chilling as ever before. Fluffy white clouds floated above the house, as if it were to snow. Rebecca knew snow wouldn't happen. She realised that she hadn't been waiting that long at all, for this. It was the 12th today. The day where the weather on the news said it was going to snow. Rebecca went outside, to check on everything, but she felt a cold melty white blob run down her back. It couldn't be! Snow! A few seconds later snow was hammering itself down into the yard. Sadly, it didn't set because it rained last night. It was the most thrilling thing that had happened to Rebecca this year. Her parents tried not to look through the window, but eventually they did.

"Woah," gasped Rebecca, "I didn't think that they were right!"

"Rebecca," her Dad said calmly, "Stay inside, it's chilly."

"OK! But can I watch it through the window?" Rebecca answered.

"Alright" moaned her Dad.

After hours of watching it snow, she didn't watch it anymore, and began to watch TV. She got the remote control for her 'Sky' box and activated it.

"Yes! Shake It Up is on! So is A.N.T farm!" she said happily.

They were her 2 favourite shows. Children shows, 2 very popular ones, she always loved to watch them. Rebecca breathed heavily as she relaxed on her sofa.

"Brrrrr," shivered Rebecca, "it's even cold in here!"

She ran to her bedroom and grabbed her duvet and her pillow, setting up a little sofa bed on the downstairs sofa. She lay in it, and she got so tired she shut her eyes, and of course, drifted off. Her dream was of rainbows and lollypops, until the man came again...

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Rebecca screamed.

"Not again!" Her Mum called.

Her Mum stumbled into the living room, once again to see what was the matter.

"I... I had the same dream I had last night!" she said, with a frightened face.

"And what was that?" Rebecca's Mum wondered.

"A man... again... grabbing me!" she quivered.

Rebecca's Mum left the room, anxiously.

Rebecca's Mum and Dad had a private conversation in the kitchen.

"She keeps having these dreams" worried her Mum.

"I know... it's strange..." puzzled her Dad.

"Maybe we should make dinner, and when she's had it send her to bed and see how it goes!" yelped Rebecca's Mum.

"Good idea," replied Rebecca's Dad "I will do it"

So Rebecca tiredly had dinner, with her head drooping down. She couldn't take anymore, so she just rised from the table, going to bed.

Rebecca heard them talking downstairs, keeping her awake. She listened:

"Maybe we should tell her... you know why we hate Christmas?" Rebecca's Mum wondered.

"Well it is 'cos of that evil man Gold Hand" he replied.

She heard nothing else. In the morning she was going to ask about him, but they'll ask "How do you know about that?" Rebecca thought. She was soon going to find out. By surprise, Rebecca had a perfect night, no bad dreams, or anything. It must of been that she found out about this mysterious mancalled Gold Hand. Maybe Gold Hand was the man that kept appearing in her dreams, maybe he was a really horrible person, because he tried to grab her. She woke up to a brisk breeze with her hair blowing in all directions, as messy as ever. The yard fence was broken, an to get it done again, well... that will be way too much money. The roof was fully iced, and the sand pit water was frozen. The trees were still, but one leaf blew off, and now there were none. Who was Gold Hand? Aparrently he was 'evil'. Sometimes someone says something, but they mean another. So technichly evil could mean something else... Lots of parents say things they don't mean like I hate you, you're an idiot, things like that. For what Rebecca's parents are like surely they would do that, or on the other hand he could be evil. Gold Hand, is obviously a nick name, no one would be called that in real life. These are the things Rebecca needed to find out:

1. Who is Gold Hand?

2. Why do her parents hate Christmas?

3. What is Gold Hand's real name?

4. Is Gold Hand really evil?

Those things weren't simple. Nothing's simple for Rebecca, and never has been. Rebecca was 7, so she is little, but she still needs to do things like this. Gold Hand! Gold Hand! No one knows about Gold Hand! Her parents could of done it for a joke, because maybe they knew that she overheard. There is only one way to find out... FIGHT!!! Not really, something more, amirable, other than fighting. Maybe she'd meet Gold Hand one day, or maybe not. She had a rough day ahead of her, as I said, she needs to find out many things.
