"Dad stop please!"

It was morning. The sun was begging to set, causing shadows to appear in the dark places of the room.

"please dad!"

I sat up in bed for a moment forgetting where I was then it hit me like a wave crashing against the shore: the bus, Fairhope, the motel, sam. I looked over to sam, he was curled up in a ball, the bedding was sprawled out all around him, and he clung to one of the pillows almost as if his safety depended on it. I wandered over to his bed, I sat in front of him poking him in attempts to wake him up.

"Sammy, Sam, Samuel!" I yelled. His eyes darted open to me he pounced baring his canines in my face. "Hey! It's me!" I hollered. Sam backed off sitting on the bed next to me. "Having nightmares again?" I asked. He nodded his head, wiping the sweat that drizzled down his forehead. "Let's go running." I suggested. Sam hopped out of bed being the first one out the door, I route my way through the woods shifting behind a tree.

I met akecheta and we ran through the woods, bumping into one another horsing around. We played tag, hide and seek, and raced each other. As we were racing we came into view of a small creek flowing through the woods it's soothing flows made our travel all the more better.

Sam and I rested near the creek. In this moment I felt untroubled with all life's little issues and it felt relaxing just being there with my little brother. I rolled over feeling the soft grass graze my fur, sam on the other hand was pouncing trying to catch a purple butterfly that repeatedly dodged his grasp, I laughed at this, causing him to turn around. Sam lowered his stance predatorily, that's when he pounced. I picked him up with all fours and threw him in the air laughing at his mistake. He reinforced himself back into his stance and quickly headed my way, I dodged him causing him to dash forward and hit a tree. I laughed. "You're a terrible warrior." I linked him. I heard a twig break in the woods and I jumped.

I heard a growl come from the other side of the creek, I jolted, almost immediately my fur stood up on my back. A jet black wolf came from the woods, than another, and another. Sam stood behind me as I growled and barred my canines at the 3 wolves on the other side of the creek. "Bow." I mind-linked sam, both our wolves bowed in defeat knowing we would not win a fight against them.

When they had all successfully crossed the creek to our side all three shifted behind a tree. 3 very well built men in basketball shorts re-entered our view from behind their trees. "Shift rogues!" One commanded. They threw clothes over to us and we shifted behind the trees. "Don't speak I will do the talking." I linked Sam. I looked over to him who nodded his head in understanding at me. "HEY! Don't link each other!" One yelled.

When approaching the men they did not hold happy faces, they were angry and firm. "Alpha will be here to deal with you rogues shortly." The left man commented. Both Sam and I bowed our heads in acceptance and we stood in their presence quietly.

Minutes past what felt like hours, Sam and I sat on the ground playing with the grass. That's when it hit me a smell. A smell I hadn't smelt all day and it was intoxicating. "Do you smell that?" I asked Sam. He sniffed the air around him and shook his head no. As I was sniffing the air I heard a cracking of twigs come from the woods and my eyes were met with wide green ones. "Mate" Nina piped in.

In the woods stood a figure I could not make out, squinting at the sun beams that were aimed right in my eyes I could see it coming closer to all of us. Every inch of my body was shaking nervously, I was scared. I got off the ground trying to keep myself from falling over, when I stood I could see the figure even more clear, it was my mate.

His presence was intoxicating to me, his smell was of melting chocolate and it made my body shiver. He had a well toned and tanned body, his hair was almost the color of my chocolate brown yet a tad darker, and once again his body was so godly that it made my core throb. "Stop thinking like that!" Nina hollered. "It's getting me excited." I pushed her to the back of my mind along with the thoughts of him-

His eyes eluded to mine and they never left, even as he approached, his eyes never left my gaze not for my brother, not for his pack, no one. "Alpha Aiden these two rogues are trespassing on our lands." One commented. "His name is so sexy. Aiden." Nina purred. I pushed her thoughts to the back of my head holding myself back from thinking so many thoughts of him.

I lowered my head away from his gaze looking straight at the ground instead of his intimidating eyes. "I will handle them, go home." The alpha told them. They shifted and ran."What are your names" he asked timidly. I looked up from off the ground, staring at him blankly. "I am Taylor and this is my brother sam" he held no facial expression. "Why are you two rogues?" He firmly questioned. I didn't answer, not that I didn't want to I just didn't know how to. "Oh yeah! My father is the alpha of vengeance blood, he use to beat my brother and I, and now look where we are!" No. You can't just blurt that out in one sentence. I continued looking at the ground, I felt his anger fuming off of him. "WHY" he hollered. "Hey! Don't talk to my sister like that!" Sam raged. He turned his attention away from me and looked at Sam, he was heading for him when I stepped in front of him. "Do. Not. Touch. My brother" I demanded

I felt Nina scratching to the surges ready to protect Sam, but I pushed her back down. "You will teach your brother not to disrespect an alpha." He said. "And You will answer my question." He demanded

I huffed out a breath of air feeling the tears ready to rage from my eyelids. "It's a long story."
