Your eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the light, even though it was cloudy. You were in a field or a forest of some sort, judging by the long blades of grass that brushed against your cheek. Just where had your vessel wandered off to? You sat up, groaning at the pain in your head. You looked around, but before you could figure out where you were, you saw the black eyes of a demon. You shakily stood up and let your angel blade slide down your sleeve and land comfortingly in your hand. Before you could react, the demon was behind you and he kicked you in the back, knocking you forward. You realized you were in no shape to fight.
The demon kicked your head, making your vision go blurry and increasing your migraine. You released your blade in the daze and the demon didn't hesitate to grab it. It quickly stabbed at your side. you rolled over to avoid it quickly, but not quick enough. It grazed your side, making a deep gash. You cried out in pain as a bit of your grace started to seep out.
You kicked the demon's legs, making him tumble over and tackled him, trying to wrestle your blade away from him. You punched him in the face and he let go. You grabbed it and stabbed him, watching him flicker dead. You panted, yanking your angel blade out of the former demon's chest.
You stood up and looked around, on guard for any more demons. The pain in your side reminded you that you needed help. But who would help you? You staggered forward, walking in a random direction. Standing there wouldn't get you anywhere.
About 5 minutes later, you sensed a great power coming from the way you were headed. You recognized it immediately as the Men of Letter's bunker. You had been there many times before. You quickened your pace and soon came to a weird some thing in the side of a hill. You leaned against the door then slammed your fist on it. You remembered they'd never let you in unless they knew who you where, which they probably didn't. Maybe if you said you knew someone there they'd at least consider letting you in.
You slammed your fist against it again.
"Henry...Winchester...! ...help..!" You slid to the ground, banging your fist again.
"Castiel!" You yelled before everything went black and you slid to the floor. Somewhere in your subconscious you heard something heavy slide across the floor and worried voices.Your eyes fluttered open again, but you were shielded from the light. You realized that was because a face was hovering over yours. You screamed and punched him in the face on impulse.
"AGH-" he said, falling off the bed.
"Dean!" Someone yelled. You sat up quickly, realizing you were in a bedroom you saw the person you punched holding his nose and someone much taller helping him.
"I'm so sorry!" You said, "you just startled me. I am so sorry." You tried to get up but your legs failed you and you fell- rather, you rolled out of bed and flopped on the ground. You managed to get to your knees before the taller one stuck out his hand to help you up. You took the offer and stood up. You sat on the bed, knowing you couldn't stand for long. The other man now had some tissues around his nose. You covered your face with your hands.
"I'm so sorry- after you helped me I punched you, I-" you blabbed.
"It's okay," the one you punched said, "it's not the first time." You sighed.
"But can you tell us who you are?" He asked, "we know you're an angel though.." He gestured to your wound which was glowing underneath a bandage.
"Oh, I'm (Y/N), who are you?" You said.
"I'm Sam and the one you punched is Dean. Um, may I ask how you knew our grandfather?"
"You mean... Henry Winchester?" You questioned. Sam nodded, "he's your grandfather??" They both nodded.
"Well, he found me almost dead on the side of the road after being ambushed by demons." You said.
"I'm guessing that's what happened here?" Dean said, pointing at your wound. You nodded.
"Henry took me back here and nursed me back to health. I grew quite attached to him but one day he just...disappeared."
"Wonder how that happened." Dean said. Sam punched him in the arm.
"I see it's like grandfather like grandsons." You said with a smile as you looked at the bandages."So how did you know how to call out Cas's name?" Dean asked.
"I felt he was nearby." You said.
"He was right." Cas said. Sam and Dean jumped and spun around, seeing Cas standing innocently behind them. Cas walked over to the bed.
"Do you still have it?" He asked you. You nodded as you slyly slipped your hand in your pants pocket, reassuringly feeling a piece of paper.
"Good." Cas said."Wait, have what?" Dean asked.
"If we told you you would be in grave danger constantly." Cas said.
"Like we're not already." Sam said.
"It would be too much for you to handle. That's why it's been entrusted with an angel." Cas said.
"Whatever, can you heal him, Cas?" Dean asked. Cas nodded and placed him hand gently over your wound. There was a stinging sensation then a calm relaxing feeling as the wound closed. Suddenly the wound opened again, a splitting pain ripping through you. You cried out and Cas stepped back.
"The wound opened again...?" Cas said, utterly confused, "I'm at full power. I should be able to heal just fine." You growled.
"That stupid demon." You said, "he must've done something to me."You huffed and Cas frowned.
"What did he attack you with?" He asked.
"My own blade." You said.
"How could he have done something to you then..?" Cas said.
"Maybe the demon had help from a witch or something?" Sam added.
"Maybe.." Cas said, "until we figure out what happened, you need to take it easy. Do not leave this bunker." Cas disappeared. You sighed."Oh, I have an idea!" You said.
"What?" Sam and Dean asked in unison, looking at each other afterwards.
"If I let my wings come out, maybe that'll help me heal. It makes me feel more natural and relaxed."
"You have wings-" Sam said but was interrupted because of a flash of light. Two, large, (w/c) wings stretched from your back. You let out a long sigh of relief.
"That feels so nice.." You said, "it's been so long."
"Wow." Dean said. Your wings fluttered a bit, not used to being out in the open.
"I didn't think it worked that way." Sam said. You shrugged.
"there's many things you don't know." You said. You got out of the bed, your wings keeping your perfectly steady. You walked out of the room and down the hallway, the Winchesters following you. You walked to the kitchen, remembering the layout from years ago. It seems everything with pretty much the same. You hopped onto the kitchen counter by the sink and unwrapped the bandages. You turned on the sink and put your hand under the stream of water. You cupped your hand, letting water pool into it and poured it on your wound. It stung like crazy and your wings straightened out, hitting Dean in the face.
"Pffft-" Dean spat out feathers that got in his mouth and coughed a bit.
"Oh, sorry!" You said, looking back.
"It's fine." Dean said. You folded your wings up again and kept putting water on your wound. You noticed it started to close up a tiny bit. You sighed and dried your side off, wrapping the bandage around it again. You hopped off the counter, your wings opening a bit, frantically trying to slow your short descent. You walked out to the main area and the boys followed you. You picked up a stray copy of Alice in Wonderland- the original draft. It never got old. You went and sat at the table, your wings resting comfortably around you. The boys decided you were content and sat down at the table, returning to researching their latest case. There were people who died because their arteries got clogged with peanut butter. Sam found himself staring at your wings. He had never seen anything like it and, as they say, curiosity killed he cat.
He was leaning back in his chair, the front legs lifting off the ground. You caught him staring and opened your wings quickly, startling Sam. He toppled backwards and you couldn't help but let out a few snickers. Dean nearly had a heart attack and dropped the book he was reading.
"Sam??"
"I'm fine..!" Sam raised a hand then let it fall down again in defeat. Life here was sure going to be... Interesting.
