Hey guys! Author here! This is one of my favorite songs, it might not really go along with the chapter but oh well I like it. Enjoy!
Aria's P.O.V.
Let me tell you about why we are ignored.
A little backstory for you guys.
So back in the fifth grade, we were pretty popular. Then Nora Huntley transferred to our school. She was nice enough, until she posted some embarrassing photos of Zo on snapchat. I got so angry that I started to beat her up......
I know. Not my best moment.
She took it down after half an hour.
25 people saw it.
None of them screen shotted it, thank God.
But what did go around was me beating her up.
It's why I'm so quiet now. I didn't want people thinking I'm a lunatic.
And then Nora's best friend Jacob started bullying us, but mostly me. Then Zo got all protective and accidentally gave him a bloody nose.
We were known as freaks, so that summer, we just melted into the shadows.
Kind of depressing, I know. But that's ok, were used to it.
People gladly ignored us.
By now, now they're not.
They're breaking the sacred law: Don't Talk To The Crazy Girls!
I can't help but be scared. What's gonna happen, I mean, last time we tried to come out of the shadows, it didn't go well.
Another trip down memory lane!Seventh grade.
Dean Joseph had just invited us to the school dance.
We were surprised but accepted.
Over the next week we gradually started making friends and becoming social.
Then Jacob found us.
He told us that he wouldn't let it happen again. We were freaks, he said. We were outcasts. And he wasn't going to take a chance.
He broke my arm that day.
He was smart, I'll give him that. He purposely pushed me down the stairwell with no cameras in it. And no one would believe us.
Needless to say, we shrunk back into the shadows.Present day
As Zo and I hurry out of the English room I whisper, "Zo, it's happening again. What are we going to do?"
She looks at me.
"I don't know."
