"Ladies and gentlemen, let us begin!!!" suddenly exclaimed the announcer, bringing me back from my thoughts.

I turned to Rei and saw that he was already heading towards a table where many weapons were disposed, a few meters away from me. Not wanting to lose any time, I sprinted as fast as I could and we both arrived at the table at the same time.

It was covered with weapons of all sorts; axes, maces, whips, and others, but what caught my attention were the knives. I took two, one in my hand and a small one that I hid in my sleeve.

I noticed that Rei had opted for the knives too. He took about four of them before he turned to face me and ... stuck out his tongue at me.

"Huh?!"

"Hi Abby-chan! I am Rei Suzuya, nice to meetcha!" he said with a singing voice. He then gave me what appeared to be a sweet smile, while dexterously twirling a knife around his fingers. "We're not supposed to kill each other, right Abby-chan?" he added.

"I don't think so..." I replied. I lifted my eyes and took a good look at him. Now that we were closer I could see all his features. His pale skin contrasted with his outstanding crimson eyes, which held a subtle tint of madness. He had pure white hair, almost the length of his shoulders, that framed his svelte face in a lovely manner. It even gave him a doll-like look. His delicate figure was leaning against the weapon table, still playing with his knife, as he also scanned my appearance. He was shirtless, only wearing some black pants that lowered to his knees held, by two suspenders. Just like me, he wasn't wearing any shoes. I was observing the various scars on his skinny body -obviously Big Madam's work- when I heard a cry.

I turned around and then got hit by the realization that the guests were still waiting for us. I guess I got too subjugated by my companion that I forgot about them...I deported my attention from Rei and started walking towards our guests. I smirked at their expressions of hesitation as they saw me coming for them.

"Aw that's just too bad..." continued Rei following behind me. "I wish I could have seen you bathing in your own blood. What a beautiful sight it would have been!" he exclaimed enthusiastically. "Maybe you would have even chocked on your last words ~"

"Hey don't get too cocky, Rei. You may have a good reputation, but I still have an ace up my sleeve." I replied, throwing an annoyed glare at him.

"Like that knife you put in there?" he asked innocently, tilting his head to the side. He almost looked cute like that. Almost. I kept walking.

"...That's not what I meant, but sure. Whatever"

He didn't seem to mind my distant attitude and happily walked next to me as we got closer to the guests. I felt his frequent looks in my direction but brushed them off, thinking that even if he was kind of a rare beauty, he still was a Scrapper and I needed to stay on my guards.

"Alright people, it seems like our little friends are done getting acquainted and are ready to prepare the five ingredients for tonight's diner!" commented the announcer.

The "ingredients" then seemed to understand what was going to happen to them and started to panic, screaming, begging and running everywhere.

"They look like scared chickens, running in every direction like that!" randomly stated Rei, laughing at them.

I almost chocked in surprise, but laughed along to the funny -and accurate- remark. Yes...maybe it would be entertaining, after all, to have someone to kill the guests with... Just this time... I clutched to the knife I held, feeling its reassuring cold sensation against my skin.

One of the men began punching at the thick wooden doors in a weak attempt to escape. The others soon joined and they all looked pathetic, trying so hard to find a way out. One of the women saw how close Rei and I had gotten.

"W-what are you doing?! Stay away!!" she yelled at us.

"Hehehe, you know that these won't break, right?" asked Juuzou in a silvery voice, motioning towards the doors.

We were now about two meters from the guests. Suddenly I dropped to my knees and burst out in tears.

"I don't want to do this! I can't do it!! I can't kill anymore!!!" I cried out, hiding my face in my hands.

Juuzou stopped walking, manifestly surprised by my sudden eruption of emotions. He stared at me, his expression hesitant, uncertain of what was happening and what he was supposed to do. I threw the knife that I had in my hand across the arena. It landed on the ground a few feet away. I got up on one knee and directed my glare towards the guest who were more confused than ever. I took a few steps forward.

"Please...Help me..." I said blankly. I extended my hand before collapsing right in front of the woman that had screamed.

She instinctively caught me in her arms before I hit the ground. I caught a glimpse of her perfume and wondered when was the last time I had the chance to smell such a nice scent. She held to my body as she could and I felt that her maternal instinct had taken over her when she tried to comfort me:

"Oh my...It's okay darling, everything's gonna be fine! You don't have to kill anyone! Just hang in there while we get you out of here alright?" she whispered to me while seeking help from the other guests with her eyes. They carefully got closer to us.

My back was bent backwards and my arms were limply falling at my sides. In this position, I could see Juuzou's eyes widen in bewilder and his mouth was open slightly in shock.

I winked at him.

With a rapid gesture of my right arm, I grabbed the knife that had remained hidden in my left sleeve and forcefully sliced open the woman's throat. Her blood spilled out and splattered over my face as she gasped in pain and realisation. Her arms let go of me and I roughly collided against the hard ground in a hysteric laugh, blood and tears streaking my face.

Time seemed to slow down as I grabbed my ribs, unable to stop laughing. The woman looked at me, disgust, pain and horror mixed in her expression. She reached to her throat in a vain attempt to stop the bleeding. I heard a weak sound; more blood was coming out and she was starting to choke on it. She groaned in pain, stumbled and fell onto the ground, still facing me. Tears ran down her face as she struggled to crawl on her elbows, trying to get away from me. The other guests were paralyzed in fear and shock.

Still lying down, I saw Rei approach, his shadow blocking the light from my sight. I looked up at him while the cheers of the audience filled our ears.
