Michael did not want to wake up at 6 in the morning, and he especially didn't want to go to yet another school. Because his dad's job moves a lot, Michael and his family has to move a lot. He hated it with a living passion. Michael just wanted to stay in one place for more than a year. That's all he was asking for.
With a sigh, Michael got out of his warm bed and went into his bathroom. He tried to tame is unruly colorful hair and brushed his teeth. He then walked out and threw on a random band tee and a pair of black skinny jeans. Michael then put on his black vans and went downstairs. He grabbed his backpack, bid his parents goodbye, then left. He walked out the door and was hit with the Australian heat. Michael had just moved from London so he wasn't used to the warm weather, even if he was originally from Australia. He huffed in frustration then began walking to the school. The school was 10 minutes away in walking distance. Michael hated physical activity, but his parents made him walk.
Once Michael got to the school, he walked in and tried to find the main office. He mentally cursed to himself when he couldn't find it. He spun around in circles and saw a girl with jet black hair looking at him curiously. She looked nice enough, maybe she could help him.
"Hey, could you help me find the main office?" Michael asked the pale girl. She simply pointed in front of herself and didn't say anything. Michael scrunched his eyebrows together in confusion and turned around. Behind him he saw a door labeled 'MAIN OFFICE' in large, bold letters, "Oh." He said in embarrassment, "Thanks." Michael awkwardly waved goodbye to her and went inside the office. He went to the front desk and asked the lady for a schedule.
"Name?" She asked.
"Michael Clifford." The lady then printed out his schedule and handed it to him. Without another word, Michael left and tried to find his classes. He looked down at the schedule and saw that he had missed homeroom. He then looked at his next class and saw that he had history. Michael sighed and went to find the class. A few doors down, he had found the right class. He walked in and all eyes were on him.
"Ah you must be Michael. I'm Mrs. Smith. Please have a seat next to Calum right over there." The teacher greeted him and pointed at the desk that was in the back corner. Michael awkwardly walked towards the desk and sat down. He took his books out and didn't bother to pay attention to the lesson. A few minutes later, Michael felt someone poke him. He looked to his left and saw a guy with raven hair and brown, puppy dog eyes.
"Hi I'm Calum." The guy introduced himself.
"Michael." He replied simply.
"You new here?" Calum asked him.
"Yeah."
"You don't talk much, do you?"
"Nope."
"You'd get along with my friend, Alli." Calum smiled softly.
"Why's that?"
"I guess you could say she doesn't talk much."

4 classes later, and it's finally lunch time. Michael dreaded this. He always finds himself walking around awkwardly trying to find some place to sit, usually alone. He sighed and entered the cafeteria. Michael brought his own lunch because he refuses to eat whatever the schools serve as food. Like similar situations, Michael finds himself walking around, trying to find and empty seat.
"Hey Michael!" He hears someone shout from behind him. He turns around and sees Calum waving him towards his tabled. Michael shrugs and walks over to the table. Already sat, along with Calum, are two other boys. One looks like he's about two years older than him and the other looks the same age as him. Michael awkwardly sits down next to Calum and puts his lunch on the table, "Michael this is Luke and Ashton. Ashton is a junior and Luke is a sophomore like us. Guys this is Michael, he's in my history class."
"Hey it's nice to meet you!" Ashton giggled. Michael was a bit shocked. He had never heard a guy giggled before. That was something new. Michael gave them a short wave and ate his lunch in silence.
"So where did you come from?" Luke asked him.
"What? Oh, I moved here from London." Michael replied to his question.
"London? But you have an Aussie accent." Luke said in confusion.
"I'm originally from here, but my dad's job moves a lot, so my mom and I have to go with him." He sighed.
"Oh damn that must suck." Ashton frowned.
"Yeah, I just wish I could stay in one place for at least a year." Michael rolled his eyes.
