Alena's POV
As my classmates drool over my science fair project I sit in the corner playing with junk from the school day. Mindlessly fiddling with paper clips and some rubber bands I stare at the crowd and think of which people would make a great couple. I get so lonely I just started matching people up. I guess no one wants to be friends with the disabled loner that's an orphan. Looking down I've created a windup helicopter. On a piece of paper I write.Dear who ever gets this,
Hi I'm Alena and I don't know my parents. I'm good at building things and one of my hobbies is to play matchmaker. This is a random thing so if your interested here's my number. If not rewind the blades and send it off.452-5921
Hephaestus' POV
Plunging my work into the water I hear the expected hiss of hot metal. I set aside my latest project and look at it with pride swelling inside of me. Although no one will find it, I pride myself in doing my best. After all, what else would one expect from the god of smiths.
I swear all my father expects from me is armor, weapons and sometimes an automan to help out the gods and their tons kids. Although I do for the occasional visit from demigods all my other projects go to waste.
When I got married I never thought I would be so lonely. Almost more than before. On the topic of Aphrodite I wonder how I can get revenge on her and Ares. I ponder this as start looking for a drachma to send an Iris message.
Before I could find one I hear a exaggerated sigh. Oh gosh here we go again. I turn around to see my 'bother' Hercules sitting on a rock and looking around my shop all the while the whole picture shimmered with the colors of the rainbow. "Hello Hercules. Not much going on today standing guard huh?"
"Nope sorry Hephaestus although I hear something about seven or eight demigods coming this way. Think ones is my brother. That should be interesting. What's up with you?"
I make him promise on the river stix that he wouldn't tell anyone about my revenge on Aphrodite. I'm not sure how to get it because I already got her once so she'll be on the lookout. "How about you make a cage of Celestial bronze and make it invisible. Then catch them together with secret cameras. Then let the mortals and the gods view it." I ponder this. It would get my revenge and I could put an explanation underneath the video for good measure.
"I like it. Your good." I slashed through the rainbow and he vanished. I start to gather scraps of metal for my trap.
After about two hours of working over the fire, anvil and looking into lava I set my hammer and tongs down and go to bed.

Working on a project is like reading a book for some. Every movement or page is enjoyable and the end product is satisfying. But at the end of both you are disappointed that it ended. Muscles burning from hours upon hours of working and the floor wet from perspiration I step back an examine my work. Not the best but then again it was meant for efficiency not decorative purposes. After luring her into a amusement park I'll place it in the cheesy love roller coaster at the end where they'll fly off the tracks and get trapped with her arrows attacking her. Then it'll broadcast live for all to see.

Alena's POV
Disassembling my project completely I shove it all in my backpack. Heading out of the school the patrolling officers give me one last glare. I hit the streets of Greensburrow running, my frizzy brown hair trying to take over my face. I stop at a corner and jerk my head when I hear a video being played on all the screens in town. From the big screens on buildings to all the phones in the world.A beautiful woman and a well built man sit in a roller coaster car in a bronze cage. The look scared but then I notice that the whole place is surrounded by little Cupid statues. Then the little statues started to move and draw their bows back. They paused and in unison started firing at the couple. One hit the woman and she went limp.
The mans eyes went wide and he grabbed her wrist to check her pulse. He visibly relaxed she must be alive. He speaks into the shadows. "What did you do to her?" A man in broken overalls covered in soot limps from the shadows. No way I limp the same way!!
"Relax, her own element just knocked her out. She'll be back."
"Good but I'll get you for this." The man in overalls scoffs. Then her turns to the camera. "That is what you get if you mess with me." Then he looks strait at me. "Good job at the science fair, daughter." I look around, everyone else is furiously texting or instagraming. Just then the man in overalls walks around the corner, heading straight towards me.
Frozen in fear he comes right up to me. "Hey um.. I got your random thing." He holds up my helicopter. "I would have claimed you sooner but I didn't know about you. I'm Hephaestus." He holds out his hand like he wants me to shake it.
"Wait just a second. Your Hephaestus, like Greek god Hephaestus? Like god of the smiths, Hephaestus?"
"We Well let's not tell the whole town."
"And you say that you would have claimed me? What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well usually we claim our children by the age of 13 so they can learn to defend themselves."
"From what?"
"You haven't figured it out yet?" I shake my head. "You are talking to your father and you know he's a god. So that means your a...?" I gasp. I remember reading this in the Percy Jackson series. I can't wrap my head around this. Then I make the mistake of racking my fingers through my hair. Feeling a searing pain. I dig out a mini mirror my mother left me. Flaming anvil floats above my head.
"I'm- I'm a Demi-god?!"
