Chapter Eight

Lina.

Floating is where I am, floating just on the surface of consciousness yet not above it. I continue to enjoy the peaceful and content slumber, yet my body and soul have no doubt that what is about to happen is anything but. A tingling sensation heats up at my fingers and toes, making its way achingly slow throughout my body. The sensation is almost numbing just with added heat. My body aches from the inside, a cramp forced into my center unexpectedly, just like the pain.

"Lina, baby can you hear me?" A deep voice says closely, my brows crinkle, my lips moving yet nothing comes out or is said. The small cramp within my belly starts to spread, white hot pain sears through my arms and legs before slowly spreading upwards making me clench my teeth in agony.

The pain starts to come at full speed, hitting me all over repeating once, twice then stopping altogether, only to start right back up again. I whimper biting my lip, while clutching something, anything until I catch a hold of fabric. I clutch it tightly as my fingers start to pull out and stretch.

An inferno heat starts from the bottom of my back and slowly gathers up towards my chest, like a rapid ball of fire making me arch my back as the pain excels rapidly upwards. I feel hands rubbing my back, but the pain is too much for me to register the soothing gesture. Biting my lip harder I feel the skin break, blood swarms in my mouth and streams down my chin.

My mouth feels full, my gums swollen as my teeth start to change, lengthen making me release my lip. I hear a quick crack just as my eyes snap open and I awaken with a scream.

Screaming his name, pleading with him to make it stop, screaming for it to stop, screaming for me to live.

Kane

I hold her tightly, as she clutches my shirt with her claws. The sharp points poking through my shirt and scraping against my skin. I pull her in closer, hoping my wolf will somewhat ease her pain, yet nothing seems to change. She lets out a hiss as she bites into her full bottom lip as her mouth changes, her gums swelling as her canines start to lengthen. Her hand clutches tighter as her back arches off the gym mat I had Knox lay out for her.

I pull back a bit, contemplating on whether I should move her or not but the scent of her blood snaps my eyes back up to her face. But what comes next just about kills me. Her beautiful once hazel eyes snap open revealing a bright striking amber and her scream fills the air.

'It has begun' my wolf says. Her screams die down to small hisses as she clenches her jaw tightly closed, but her whimpers and yelp's still tell me that she's struggling with the change. Gripping my shirt with one hand, I rip it off. Gently holding her near my chest I lift her chin so she's facing me. "Lina, come'on angel, look at me." She lets out another scream, her breaths coming in fast pants as I hear a bone snap.

I curse, "Come'on baby, let me see those beautiful eyes" I say soothingly while rubbing her back. Her eyes snap open and are still burning a bright amber, her canines are still out. "Okay baby, I need you to focus okay, look at me and focus on what I'm telling you okay? I'll make it better" I say hoarsely, my fucken eyes blurring as I hold her face in my palm. "I promise baby. You just have to trust me okay?" I say while caressing her cheek.

She closes her eyes for a second before breathing out slowly, "Okay" she croaks out. Keeping eye contact I smile, "Okay, close your eyes for me" I say quietly, never stopping the soothing rhythm of my hands on her cheek and back.

She complies and breathes through her nose. "Okay now, feel that heat?" I ask and she nods, letting out a little whimper, "Now, I want you to just let that heat go, okay just let it unfurl within you" I say calmly. She looks up at me and then nods, she whimpers and arches her back. She starts shaking and I hear the second set of bones crack and I know she's shifting.

She screams and I smooth her hair back from her sweaty forehead. She lets out another yelp and starts to pant, looking up at me and let's out a breath, tears starting to stream down her cheeks. My fist tightens behind her back as I growl lowly, "Come'on baby, you can do this! Let it go!" I say louder.

Her breaths become growls and I hear more pops and cracks, watching her push me away slightly till both her hands are clutching the floor. Her fingers and nails have fully shifted into claws and she lets out a scream as her back arches upwards, "K-aaanneee, I-I c-ccanntt" she wails.

I get onto my knees in front of her, lifting her chin and wiping her tears I harden my eyes and look into her amber ones, similar to my own. "Yes you can. Shift!" I say with full Alpha authority. Her eyes widen and she starts to shake, she moves till she's on all fours and with a final last scream, more bones crack and heat starts to steam off her.

I sit back on my haunches, keeping my hands fisted in my lap trying to control myself from pulling her into me. She growls loudly once ending it with a scream just as she jumps into the air and ripples into a beautiful sleek black wolf, her ears, snout and paws white.

I don't waste another second, standing with a growl, I shift my wolf taking over as I come to, on four legs. Her wolf sways slightly, just as I close the space between us. I place my snout against her neck, letting out a loud breath of relief.

I nip against her as she growls out at me lazily. I throw my head back and howl loudly no doubt waking the whole pack. No fucks given whatsoever though, my baby had pulled through and she was gonna be one hell of a Luna. Taking her under my neck, I pull her into me as I sink onto the floor. Seeking our bond, I find her easily.

Linking our minds together I push through, letting her know I was in her mind. Her wolf yips happily while she smiles sleepily. With a chuckle, I snuggle into her neck, her back to my front as I let sleep consume the both of us.

'My Lina' I grumble softly through the link.
