Counterparts.

'CUTTTTTTTTTTTT!!' 

Everyone on the set sighed.It's been more than 10 takes but none was satisfying. 

'Feng Jianyu,why can't you do this properly?Just throw your gaze away and try to imagine your love ones. We need to finish this today!' The director shouted in frustration.

That  was the day when they shot a music video for Dayu's new song. That was the last scene. Dayu was required to show expression of someone who filled with longing for someone he loves. Dayu had trouble carrying that act out.

'I can't think of anyone,it's hard for me to perfectly act that out' Dayu was just looking for excuse.

'Well,try harder!Don't you have first love?Or anyone to love?Even a family can be counted.This is the last scene,everyone can't wait to finish this and go back' 

Dayu looked around. He can see the staffs already reached their limit. He had to do his best.

'Alright,i will try' Dayu said as he prepared himself and getting into the position.

Upon hearing the word 'action',Dayu threw his gaze outside the window. His mind was blank,he knew he would fail again this time for sure but suddenly his eyes caught the image of Wang Qing walking casually inside the opposite building.Dayu saw Wang Qing talked to the staff with a smile on his face. Wang Qing never talk that way with him. Soon the image disappeared,Wang Qing no longer in his sight.

'Days turned to weeks,and weeks turned to month.Wang Qing and him been married for a little more than a month. They are different from any other married couple. They don't live under the same roof,they don't text each other or see each other. Perhaps the only time they did see each other after the marriage was when they both went for a charity work. But that was for a brief moment,they only exchanged glances.'

Dayu was lost in his own thought. He snapped back into reality once the direction shouted out the word 'cut' again. But this time he perfectly acted out the essential scene of the music video.He was praised. Then they all wrapped up the filming and bid goodbye to each other. Dayu thanked all the staffs for their hard work on set. 

'Dayu,you did well!' The manager praised his acting skill. Dayu simply reply with a thank you.

'Who did you think of?Is there anyone special to you?' The manager asked as they walked side by side to the main building.

'No one- I was just thinking of the new song' Dayu avoided the question by telling lies. The manager only nodded his head upon hearing it. 

Dayu took a seat at the lobby once they reached the main building. His manager and assistant went to discuss something with the director. He looked around,there were few known faces walking here and there. That building is a company that manage people in the entertainment industry. The place where Dayu was earlier is building full of sets built for filming purpose. However,Dayu doesn't belong to that company. His company rent one of the set there and that's why he was there.

Wang Qing had a meeting on the second floor with a film director.He was offered a lead role in a film recently and had been thinking about it. They had a brief meeting and Wang Qing was told to meet the scrip writer for further detail so he went down to the lobby where she seated. 

The script writer handed him a script and the title caught his attention.

'Falling in love with a rival?' Wang Qing asked the moment he saw the title.

'Yes,you will know why once you read the summary ' The writer smiled as she said so. Wang Qing already been noticed on a few details about the film story line but he wanted to know if the script is good enough.He doesn't want to waste his time and effort for something that won't satisfy him.

'The script is good,well-written.As expected from you' Wang Qing smiled,showing his satisfaction.

'So..You agree on taking the role?I think that you really suited that role' The script writer asked for confirmation.

'Yes,i will do it..But- Have you find suitable actor to act as the 'rival'? Wang Qing was a little concern about that.

'Not yet but i have few candidates.Do you have anyone in mind?A good partner will bring out the best in you' 

Wang Qing already caught a glimpse of Dayu once he went down the stairs heading toward the lobby.

'A rival huh' Wang Qing thought to himself as he smirked. Wang Qing firmly said that he wanted to act along that particular person as he pointed at Dayu's direction. The script writer asked for a second time. 

'Are you sure?I heard that he's a greenhorn actor' 

Wang nodded.He was sure enough that no one else can portray  a rival better than Feng Jianyu.

A few days later Dayu got a phone call from his manager,saying that he been offered a lead role in a film. Dayu immediately agreed without hearing any details of the film.He was just happy that he can finally try on acting since he been wanting to do so for a long time. Acting in a music video isn't the same with acting in a film,he thought.

That evening Dayu went to meet the director and the script writer of that particular film. He was accompanied by his manager. On the way Dayu kept on telling his manager how grateful he is and how he will work hard to improve his acting skill. He was happily smiling all the way but that didn't last for long. 

'You mean my partner is a guy?The film isn't about the typical male and female romance?' Dayu's heart almost stopped when he heard that the film focus on boys love. 

'Yes. I thought i made it clear to your manager when we spoke the other day' said the director .Dayu turned to his manager who just shrugged at him.

'But- If that's the case then i am not sure if i can convey my feeling into acting as the given character.This will be my first try in acting and i am inexperience with having love line with a guy' Dayu said and then realized he is married to a guy. He sighed. The marriage has nothing to do with love.

'That's fine,i will guide you through.At first we wanted the female and male romance but nowadays boys love is really trendy. Fans love this kind of genre. It's just an act,it will be a good experience for you to try something new isn't it' The director seems convincing.

Dayu inhaled. He was a little convinced with the director's words. Perhaps it's a good opportunity for him to improve himself,to gain new experience. 

'When will we filming?I need a few days to think it over. Will that be fine?And i just released my single album so it might be a little troublesome for you guys' Dayu explained his situation.

'Next month.I think that should be fine right?We can adjust our filming to fit your schedule.Or we can film your parts first and resume it later once you are done with promoting your album' The scrip writer nodded as sign of agreement in what the director just said.

'Alright,i will think about it and give you answer in few days..Ah!If it's alright can i know who's the other actor that will play as my partner?' Dayu was curious.

'Wang Qing..He's the one that suggested that we cast you as his counterpart' Said the script writer.

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT- That word echoed in Dayu's head for a while.
