Chapter 8 - Good News

Sam POV

When I walked into the living room Lewis was on the phone. "See you later then. Love you too!" He was grinning from ear to ear, and looked so angelically happy that it would have brought tears to my eyes, except all I could think was, I bet that's his girlfriend. Lucky bitch. Of course he’s too perfect to be single. He ended the call and looked up to see me hovering in the doorway, chewing my lip anxiously. He suddenly jumped up off the sofa and rushed towards me, scooping me up in his arms and we both burst into laughter - it was as though his happiness was infectious. He lifted me up and spun me around like I was a child, but I wasn't complaining - his well-muscled arms felt amazing wrapped around me.

Once he eventually set me down I asked him, "What was all that about?" He continued to grin, and answered, "That was my mum - Megan is fine! Apparently she fell asleep on the train and ended up in Derby. But it's okay; she's home now." I let out an excited squeak before throwing my arms around him, capturing him an a bear hug, and he laughed at me as I jumped around the living room like a hyper little kid; little did he know it was mostly because he was on the phone to his mum, and not some skinny bimbo girlfriend.

After I had calmed down a bit - Lewis had eventually grabbed me and pinned me on the sofa, not that I was bothered about that - Lew began to speak tentatively, "So, er, do you want to came over to my house and meet Meg?" I giggled at his shyness, "Yeah, I'd love to!" I exclaimed (perhaps a little too enthusiastically) but then I remembered, "Oh, shit! I told Bailey that we'd go bowling with her and the others at eleven fifteen..."

"We?" He asked, his expression showing surprise.

"Of course - you haven't met everyone properly yet." I smiled, and his face relaxed, but still looked a little troubled.

"Oh, well, uh, I guess I could..." he started, but I could tell what he wanted and cut him off.

"Maybe your sister could come too?"

Lewis beamed and replied, "That would be awesome! I'll call her."

He got out his phone, then asked "Uh, what's the time?"

I checked my own phone and told him, "It's nine thirty. Wait, doesn't it say that on your phone?"

Lewis grinned sheepishly as a blush crept up his neck and face, "Uhm, my phone has the wrong time and, well, I don't know how to change it. I'm not so good with technology."

I laughed and took his phone from him, changing the time in ten seconds flat, "There. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!" I gave Lewis a falsely smug look as I returned his phone.

"Whatever, Mrs. I'm-so-good-with-phones-and-stuff." Lew poked me in the side and I retreated, giggling. He called his sister and from what I heard of the conversation, she would only go if her friend could too. Lewis told her that she could, then hung up, smiling.

"So her and her friend are coming then?" I asked, and Lewis nodded in reply. "Awesome. I'll call the bowling alley and tell them there's two more people coming." I rung the bowling alley and arranged the extra spaces then hung up with a grin on my face.

"Do you want to come over to mine now? I don't think Megan will know where the bowling alley is, 'cos I definitely don't!" Lewis chuckled.

An idea popped into my head and I grinned, "Yeah, sounds good. Let's go!" And with that I sprinted out of the house screaming "Catch me if you can!" as I went, giggling childishly.

Half-way down the street I stopped, turned around, and walked casually back to a very smug-looking Lewis.

"So, uhm, where do you live, exactly?"
