CH. 7 - Biker Man
BRANDON'S P.O.V. (point of view)
It all happened in slow motion - I was running down the stairs to get to Addie. All I'd wanted to do was tell Addie goodbye, maybe give her a goodbye kiss, and tell her how beautiful and stunning she was. But instead, she's laying on the ground with a shot in her arm, with a man standing above her, pointing the gun down at her defeated body.
"Addie! Get away from her! Addie!" I yell as I sprint into the room where Addie lays near the man that caused her such pain. I want to rip his head off for causing my girl that much pain.
Did... Did I just call Addie 'my girl'?
I come back to the realization that there's a man standing in my unfurnished foyer room, holding a gun, pointed right at me. I stop dead in my tracks, putting my hands up in surrender.
"O... Okay... man... let's settle this the-" my stuttering voice gets cut off as the man barks back, "NO!" his deep tone of voice, along with his leather jacket and furly mustache remind me of a biker. A motorcyclist.
At his point, I'm pretty sure my life is ending. And where the fuck are my parents?
Thr biker snarls and takes slow steps towards me, holding the gun up and ready to shoot. "Tell me where Robert Stiller is or you die." His face is an inch away from mine, making him even more threatening.
Oh God. Why is he after my dad? But there's no time for reasons, I've got to save Addie. Without thinking, I raise my fist up as fast as I can, making contact with his face. I stand in shock, and watch him stumble back.
The biker raises his head to look me in the eyes, and I can see the fury raging in his. Oh shit. I sprint out of the room, with the biker close on my heels. He's scarily fast for being so big and muscly. I head towards the stairs, and take them three at a time, finally getting a bit more out of reach. Once I'm at the top, I take a quick glance to see how far away he is - about twelve stairs. I run towards the other set of stairs, and slide down the railing, landing perfectly at the bottom. That was so bad ass!
Knowing the biker is probably at the top about to come down, I sprint my top speed and run to Addie. Thank God for all the football training I've done. I start lowering myself closer to the ground, ready to scoop her up and run out the back door.
My hand goes under her small waist and the other under the back of her knees, carrying her like a bride. I kick open the door with my foot and run to my Audi R8 ** out front. Rounding the huge width of the mansion, I really hope that the biker is following me, and does not happen to be standing in my driveway. That would ruin my whole plan.
Addie is super light to carry, thank God for that. I look down at her beutiful sleeping face and admire her gorgeous, soft blonde hair flying in the wind as I sprint at my top speed.
When I finally reach the corner of the mansion, I turn and look for the biker. Luckily, he followed me through the back of the house and is chasing us, throwing out curse words like no-one's business. I round the corner, trying to grab my keys out of my pocket. I hit unlock, and open the door, resting Addie on the seat. I keep my car in the most pristine condition, but if Addie's shoulder bleeds on the white satin leather, I could care less.
I slam the door shut and sprint to the other side, getting in the car and starting the engine. I shift into drive, and look up to see the biker standing in frontof the hood of my Audi. Shit. He's raising a sledge hammer, about to slam it down on my hood. Oh hell to the no. I press my foot into the gas pedal, the Audi speeding forward and slamming into the biker. He rolls up onto the hood, over top of the mid section of the car, and off onto the driveway, landing on his back.
I speed down the long driveway, checking on Addie. "Addie?" I ask, slightly nudging her leg. She remains silent, her bright blue eyes hidden beneath closed eyelids.
I let her be, and punch 911 into my black iPhone, telling the call receiver about the motorcyclist at my house.
After a ten minute drive, we arrive at the hospital and I carry Addie in, get her registered, and wait in the waiting room for 4 hours until they allow me in.
I walk in, and seeing Addie in all the wires and tubes on that hospital bed breaks my heart. It's all my fault. I begged her to stay over later at my house. I should have been shot, not her.
"Brandon?" Addie's weak voice calls out to me, and I start to shuffle forward towards her.
"Thank you for saving my life.." her tone drags out, and a tear wells up in her tired looking eyes.
I pull up a chair, and lean in, giving her a long hug, and whisper, "You're welcome Adds," as I feel tears welling up in my own eyes. "I love you." I say, squeezing her tighter.
"I love you too." She mumbles, before the medicine takes her back to sleep.
I stay in the chair in the room, watching her breath peacefully, vowing to never let her get hurt again. And when she wakes up, I'm going to ask her to be my gilrfriends, so she will be protected forever.
