I woke up to my mom gently shaking my shoulder. "Ale? Allison? Wake up honey its time to go."

I groaned softly and stretched. We were leaving today.

We got to the airport a few hours after we left the hospital. It took us another hour and a half to take off.

I'd never been a big fan of flying but in this case, I knew I was leaving that hell of a life behind me. I was going to start my senior year in Liverpool. I'd make new friends, and it would be better. I smiled a little at the thought. I might even meet a cute British boy....

I had fallen asleep staring out the window and I slept through the whole flight. I was glad that was over. My mother, father, and I collected our luggage and rented a car to drive to our new home.

-45 minutes later-

It was definitely different approaching our new house. It was a small cottage looking thing, it had a tiny driveway that could fit two cars on each side. The backyard wasn't as large as I'd like it to be, I couldn't go and think under any trees anymore to think. I took a deep breath and got out of the car. I at least liked the weather here better than Michigan's weather. It was warm and inviting.

I walked in the little "cottage" and looked around. The living room led down into the kitchen and the stairs were pressed against the wall next to the front door. It wasn't much, but it already felt like home.

I yelled to mom that I was going to go to my room and unpack. She yelled back that my bed wasn't upstairs yet, nothing was. I sighed and went up anyway, setting my suitcase in the corner of the room. I already saw exactly where I wanted everything in my head and smiled to myself. I went downstairs and started to help unpack everything else.

I was in the middle of getting out dishes with my mother when there was a knock at the door. My father opened the door and said hello. I was assuming it was our neighbors. I peeked around the kitchen wall and saw a handsome boy standing at the door. He was smiling and chatting with my father, his voice was intriguing. I'd never heard such a unique accent before. I guess that's the Liverpudlian sound. I smiled a little and inspected what he was wearing. He had a black leather jacket on and his hair was tossed up and combed with gel. It looked nice on him.

"Well its nice to meet you Mr. Berkley. I'm Paul by the way, I go to the school a few blocks down. The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts? Its a high school sir."

A blush crept its way into my cheeks. I was going to that school.

My father smiled and nodded, "its nice to meet you too Paul. Its funny you should say that, my daughter Allison is supposed to enroll there also."

He did not just call me Allison.

My mother came up from behind me and pinched my arm lightly, "close your mouth honey. It's just another one of those teds. They're not the type of boy you want to hang around anyhow. Come on help me finish." She giggled and opened another box.

Teds? I apparently had a lot to learn. He didn't look like a bad guy to me. I wonder what these teds have a reputation for. I looked around the wall once more and watched the door close. Paul, I liked the sound of him. I smiled and rejoined my mother and continued unpacking.
