Chapter 1

Sky's pov

My eyes open and I lay in my bed just thinking about the day. Today marks another day at school, therefore another day of torture. You are probably thinking 'everyone hates school,' right? In most cases this is true, but I happen to love school, I just hate the people who go here. Why? Because I am the school nerd with no friends and constant bullies.

I get up and my alarm goes off. "Early again, oh well." I turn off my alarm and go into my bathroom and take a shower and before changing and putting on my glasses and my hair in a ponytail.

I go to the door, grab my bag, and walk to school. I only live 3 minutes from my school, so why not? I am thinking of so many things that I don't even realize that I have made it to my favorite spot outside the school, but it looks like I am a little late because all the popular kids are there. Oh no, turn away quickly Sky!! Don't let them see you! Too late. I am suddenly on the ground and I see Miss Queen Bee herself walk past me laughing.

"LOSER!!"
"FREAK!!"
"NERD!!"
"UGLY!!"

That is all I hear before I get up and run off, bumping into someone in the process. I mumble a sorry before I dash off again not wanting anymore trouble.

But little did I know that that person was going to change my life forever.

Gage's pov

I wake up to my alarm blaring again for the fifteenth time this morning. I then realize that I must go to a new school today and I growl in annoyance before getting up. I take a quick shower before running out of my bathroom. I'm gonna be late! And on my first day! This cannot be happening!!

I hear my wolf, Jack, snicker in my head and I growl again. "This is not a laughing matter Jack! I am going to be late if I don't hurry!" "Well sorry to burst your bubble Gage, but you still have an hour until school starts." When Jack says that, I look back at the clock and see he's right. This morning just keeps getting better and better.

"AHAHAHAHAHA!! This is just too funny!" I block Jack out and finish getting ready before going downstairs. I eat breakfast and clean up the mess I made before walking out of the Pack House and head to school, keeping in mind to be as quiet as possible so I don't wake up the other pack members.

Jack and I have been talking for 20 minutes about what the students at school will be like when I see the school ahead. I check my watch and see that I have 10 minutes before school starts; who knew I lived so far from the school? I start walking over to the office but stop when I smell the most amazing smell ever in my life; mint, chocolate, and fresh rainfall on a rainy day. I look towards the smell and I see a girl running in my direction and when she runs into my shoulder as she goes past, Jack and I both say the word I have been looking and dreaming of forever
