It was the year of 2008. For two years, the United States economy was the lowest it had been since the Great Depression. Many people lost their jobs and their houses, including my grandmother and one of my two uncles; on my father's side. Since my uncle lived with my grandmother, they were both invited to live with my family and me. I was only eight at the time, so I saw it as an extremely long sleepover. I was absolutely ecstatic! I adored my grandmother, and I thought of my uncle as a second father figure. Being able to see them everyday, instead of the pre-scheduled weekend visits, filled my little heart with immense joy.
