Chapter 17

“Reece!”

“Quinn” he warned setting me down on the lounge and standing tall in front of me “I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again, No Presents

I pouted “Your family is putting me up for a week, with dinner and cleaning and washing and your telling me I’m not allowed to get your mum and dad a little present to say thank you”

“Yes”

“Even if they give me something, which I’d be mad about?”

“Yes”

I frowned “Twat”

He grinned “Exactly”

I growled and flopped back onto the lounge, staring up at the ceiling

“Sorry babe” he muttered picking up my feet so he could sit under them, resting them on his lap “Mum said that you weren’t meant to buy anything, she said ‘Quinn’s taken care of my baby boy for 3 weeks and has no obligation to get us anything’

I sighed and sat up, swinging my feet around to dangle off the lounge “I hate your mum’s rules”

“You know what she doesn’t have a rule for”

I looked up at him “What?”

“Sleeping arrangements” he winked, pecking my cheek and walking over to the phone “Want Chinese for dinner?”

“Honey Chicken please”

I switched on the TV and watched the news while Reece paced the living room ordering our take out

“Should be here in 30 minutes” he said, placing the phone down and sitting back next to me

“How much?”

“I’m paying”

I rolled my eyes “You are resilient aren’t you, won’t let me do anything”

“Nope”

“I’m not a baby you know and this is the 21st century women are independent, I can pay for dinner”

“I know”

I just looked at him, His eyes flickering over the news on TV

“Seriously?”

His eyes whipped around to focus on me “What?”

’I Know’ is your educated answer to me talking about women capability”

He smiled, brushing his hand along my cheek “I know your independent and have been for a while but babes, it’s nice for the man to pay for dinner when in the company of a woman, my dad taught me to never let a woman pay or lift something heavy”

I frowned

“Did I say something wrong?”

“No” I fumed
