"You think you're a vampire." His voice trailed off, uncertainty filled his eyes. "I cant tell if you're serious or not."

I sighed exasperatedly. I'd spent the last 47 minutes and 58 seconds revealing my secret, telling him everything, from the moment Edward and I first exchanged heated glances to now, standing beside the hospital bed that supported Keegans fragile body. "I'm being serious Keegan. I wouldn't lie to you about this. I promise."

He shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut. "So you're saying that you can make me immortal so I don't have to die?"

"Yes." I whispered. His eyes opened to a new hope.

"When can we do this?" His voice was barely a whisper.

I grasped his hand. "As soon as you want."

He let out a long sigh that seemed to have been building in his chest. "Good, now would be alright." He craned his head up to the ceiling, revealing his neck.

Carlisle chuckled. Keegan jumped in his bed, unaware that Carlisle had entered the room several seconds ago or that he had heard our entire conversation from the hallway. He swallowed. "You heard?"

Carlisle nodded, smiling politely. "Don't be frightened, son."

Keegans body relaxed into the uncomfortably hard mattress. He stretched awkwardly in bed. "So, when can we do this? I'm sick of dying."

Carlisle thought for a moment. "We'll have to get you out of here and to my home, far from any possible witnesses."

Keegan shrugged. "No one can see us right now."

I squeezed Keys hand. "They'll hear your screams." His eyes snapped up to me in extreme inquisition. "It's going to hurt." The foggy memory still stood tall in my mind. It would not be a pleasant experience.

He shrugged and frowned in distaste. "Of course it will. Well, when can we break me out of this hell hole."

Carlisle smiled. "I'll start filling out the paperwork tomorrow. For now, get some rest. You're going to need it." He put one hand flat between my shoulder blades, guiding me out of Keegans room. I looked back one more time, giving Key my best encouraging expression. He grinned mischievously and then the door closed, separating us.

Carlisle and I walked down the hallway at an even pace. "Will we be able to take him home tomorrow?"

Carlisle sighed folding his arms behind his back and staring strait ahead. "After all of the necessary paperwork is filed, I believe we can sneak him out." He paused and smirked. "Home?"

I blanched and my mouth went dry as I stumbled for words. "I meant your home-"

Carlisle waved my frantic explanation away and we continued walking in a comfortable silence. We finally made it to the front doors and he turned to wave to one of the receptionists who's eyes almost crossed in pleasure at his sudden regard.

I giggled as we navigate into the parking lot. Just like his son.

"Just like his son?" He questioned.

Shock overtook me when I realized I had spoken those words. "Oh, I didn't think I said that out loud." I searched for a false explanation but finding none, I decided to tell the truth. "Edward would do the same thing. He'd dazzle women, sometimes on accident, sometimes to get what  he wanted." A faint smile kissed my lips when the memories started flashing around in my head.

Carlisle smiled widely. "Yes, he can be very spoiled." It was silent for a moment before he began again. "He still loves you." His observation had not gone unnoticed.

"Everyone keeps telling me the same thing."

"Why do you hesitate?" He asked. His back straitened and he stopped walking. "I apologize, I don't know why I would ask such an invasive question. Forgive me."

I laughed quietly. "Carlisle don't worry. Everyone keeps asking me that. I guess I'm just not sure where I stand with him yet."

His golden brows furrowed. "Yes, I do see why you would have trust issues after everything we put you through." We continued in our walk to Carlisle's car. "I'm sorry. I realize now that I haven't had a chance to apologize for what we did to you all those years ago."

"Don't apologize, it's not your fault." Alice caused this.

"We blindly followed Alice's every word, we should have shown some individuality but we were so tied up in her. We should have been able to see right through her schemes the second she told us she was to marry-"

"Carlisle," I interrupted, unable to stand one more word of that sentence. "I forgave you all the moment I found out what was going on. Don't feel guilty." I smiled up at his pale face and he smiled back appreciatively.

"Thank you, for giving us another chance. We wont let you down again."

My lips twitched and I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him. "So, what happened with Alice, weren't you supposed to confront her yesterday?"

His face fell. "Yes, that was initially the plan, but she never showed up." He paused in thought. "It seems that we may have overlooked her fortunetelling. It is my guess that she saw what was going to happen and ran away."

My brows knitted in uneasiness. "Where would she go?" My stomach churned. "She wouldn't just disappear like that. She's up to something." I looked to Carlisle who held his own expression restlessness at the thought. His eyes occupied no answers for me.

He brought his hand up to rest on my shoulder. "We wont know until it happens, Bella. For now, let's just try to rela-" His words were cut off by a deafening explosion right behind us. His eyes shot over my head and in the reflection, I could see light bouncing from his corneas. I turned to see the the bright red and yellow flames bursting from the windows of the second level of the hospital. The cancer ward.

Before I could attempt to leap into the burning building that stood precariously at least 1,000 feet away from me, shards of metal and glass erupted from the walls as the building began to crumble down.

Carlisle catches me around the waist, attempting to stop me, but I wriggle out of his grasp. He runs after me but we both stop as the fire begins to spread throughout the hospital and the sound of terrified screams fill our ears. A long, shiny, metal rod shot in my direction and before I could think to move from it's inevitable path, everything went black. The last thing I heard was Carlisle frantically yelling my name.
