Terri’s POV
I didn’t really know why, but even after I had caused a big, unnecessary scene with Cody and we both went our separate ways after that , I just knew I couldn’t stay away from him for too long and that I had to come back one way or another. Even if it took him to see me at his door in such a unsightly mess like now. You may think I’m crazy, but I was tired of running, tired of hiding my feelings from Cody, the guy I knew I liked, the guy I knew I wanted. He was the one for me and he had proved that and he had deserved to know how I felt about him in each and every way that I could possibly word and describe in a sentence. I wanted to tell him that we belonged with each other.
I took a deep breath.
Calm down, Terri you can do this. I placed hand on my stomach. The butterflies were floating around in there like crazy.
Suddenly, the door finally flung opened. Cody stood in the door way, his facial expression clearly masked with a questioning look.
“Hey,” I said shyly as I waved my hand. He was shirtless which was very distracting for me. He looked so alluring.
“Hey.” Cody replied in a sort of regular tone.
“We need to talk. “ I said, getting right to the point before I had got far too sucked into my fantasy to function correctly which was exactly what was happening to me right now.
“Okay, Come on in.” He stepped aside to let me in. I walked inside the house, paying no attention to how he peeked his head out of the door before he closed it behind me.
“Terri, what happened to you? You look like you got into some trouble.” He said with worry in his tone.
I laughed bitterly, correcting him. “More like some trouble got me, Cody!”
“Oh, well, what kind of trouble are we speaking?” Cody asked curiously while leaning against the wall.
“You know the girl I fought earlier last week before school ended, right” I questioned.
“Yeah, what about her?” He raised an eyebrow.
For a brief moment, there was silence in the small living room, as I stared at him from across it while standing in the center of the floor.
