"Portals?" Tyler repeated. "Why are you interested in those? I mean they have many uses and abilites but they can be rather unstable if not done correctly." she explained. Tyler worked with portals once before with another Coven. Granted it wasn't the best experience ever but it was still one she remembered.
"I was just curious. Cause you know," Grijo pased and her arms danced around in nervousness. "You might never know when it might come in handy to try and escape or..." he voice got soft and whispered "trying to sneak into the bedroom of a certain Djinn Crusader woman...." her voice trailed as her cheeks turned a light pink. Rylei smacked the back of her head which was responded with a very quirked Ow . Grijo turned to look at Rylei who had a smile on his face and opened her mouth in protest but she was interupted by the frost elf's voice, which was rather raised with authority. "Rylei Dreemurr, stop!" she commanded. Rylei's eyes shot towards her widened in shock, smile quickly fading. He's never heard her voice raised like this before. Grijo responded in the same manner. "Grijo, you will not try and create a portal to the bedroom of someone for..." she stumbled over the words "a roll in the hay!" Tyler's hand smacked the table, the knick-knacks and glass jars rattled against the impact. "Toying with rituals and magic in such ways can lead tod disasturious consquences and I will not let any pupil of mine risk their lives in that manner. I won't be having it, do you understand me?" Tyler's voice was hard and her look stern. Grijo's eyes swelled up with a tear. She must have felt the anger coming from Tyler and it must of scared her, scared her deeply.
The room was silent. Nothing but the chirping of crickets coming through the slightly ajar window was heard. Grijo stood up, the chair slightly sliding on the wooden floor making noise in the silence. Her gaze locked with Tyler's and spoke in a serious tone "I'm Sorry" and quietly walked out of the room.
Tyler sighed. "I shouldn't have yelled at her like that. I know she wouldn't have done anything like that on her own." She looked up at Rylei. "I just didn't know how to react, I'm responsible for teaching you both how to be ritualists and I don't want to screw it up and have you both killed because of my lack of guidance." Tyler walked slowly over to Rylei as she spoke and sat in the chair next to him. "I don't want to fail. I want to prove to the Court that I can handle students and that I'm ready for the next part of my training. But that's not my priority, as making sure you both are safe are just as high as a priority if not most important." She looked up at him with the twinkle in her eye but with a frown. "Was I too harsh?" she inquired.
Rylei sucked in a breath through his teeth letting out a small hiss. "Well, Miss Ty" he began to say but paused with an open mouth "Yes. Yes you were" he nodded. Tyler let out a groan of frustration and then dropped her head to the table with a small thump, her hat bending forward off her head. "I suck at this, don't I" she grumbled. Rylei reached out and placed a hand on her back, giving it a small pat. Touching her was like putting your hand on metal on a cool day. It wasn't warm, it wasn't freezing, just a refreshing cool surface on a warm hazy night. She groaned again, "That's a yes, isn't it?". Rylei continued to just be silent and pat her back. Words wasn't his strong suit so he just tried his best for the mistress in her distress.
Suddenly, words came into his mind and they came from his lips in a gentle tone, not the normal tone he would use on the Predator if they were aboard it. But something new, something he only ever showed to his sister Xara. Compassion and understanding.
"You are doing the best you can. You don't want to see us fall short of our potential nor do you want to see us take a path of Ritualism that could lead us into dangerous waters or even death. " His voice softened. "I thnk you are doing a great job with us the past few months. Teaching us rituals, finding us places in the coven, guiding us with situations even if they aren't ritualist related. I appreciate everything you do and I'm eternally grateful for it all. " He let out a small chuckle. "And being an elf, that eternal gratitude is gonna last a long while. As you well know" Rylei concluded. He looked into the frost elf's eyes and gave her a reassuring smile. "You got this, Miss Ty."Tyler slowly picked herself up from the slump position she was in on the table and looked up at him. She give a small smile. "Thank you" she said.
The spirits were lifted in the frost elf when all the sudden Grijo came back moments later, bursting into the room.
"Tyler! I just received word through Shadow's Whisper. Tolear is trying to open a portal to the Nightmare Realms!" she exclaimed. "It's causing a rift inbetween the realms and creatures are pouring through!"
"What!" Tyler roared, her anger causing the magic in her to glow a blue hue. She rushed out the door, her students close at her heels, with the door slamming as they left. The room was left quiet with just the open window when a dark deep laughter echoed through out the room. Wind blew through the open window and flipped open the Spell Book left on the lecturn, pages turning rapidly before stopping in the Forbidden Magic section under Ritual of Realm Trasnference ."I have you now, Taelynne Nicavel." The dark voice declared. The page fluttered against the wind as it was ripped out of the book and flew out the window into the night.
