I don't think I've ever been this excited. Here I am, me, Anabelle Moore, going to the United Kingdom.
It's not everyday you see someone like me going somewhere. See, I'm from Arco, a teeny town in Idaho. Population, nine hundred and forty two. People rarely come or go from Arco. Imagine my parent's suprise when I told them I planned on going to collage in England.
I'd spent all of my years dreaming of being somewhere else. My only refuge was my horse, Peanut. I would miss him most of all, I think.
The flight attendant announced we'd be landing in under twenty minutes. Thank god, because the woman next to me would not stop talking. Could she not take a hint?
Twenty-five minutes later, I'm stepping off of the plane. I felt a shiek rise up my chest and I struggled to hold it in. Even the UK's airports were beautiful.
I could've stood there watching the people all day. There were so many, more than I'd ever seen in one place, even more than at the Arco Festival of Talents. Hugging, kissing, talking, laughing. The glee of it all showed in my face, I'm sure. That's okay. Here, I wasn't planning on hiding anything.
A new country, a new life, a new me.

The taxi ride to my college, Sheffield Hallam University, was a pleasure. The cab driver didn't say much, and he refused to even make polite conversation. After a while, I just turned to my window and watched the scenery go by.
After arriving at SHU, and paying an extremely high taxi fee, I stand in awe in front of the main entrance to the administration building. I didn't know where or how to find my dorm, so I'd figured someone here could help me.
Pushing open one of the large double doors, I'm relieved to find a girl, about my age, sitting at a desk with a banner spelling, "CAMPUS MAPS" in large, bold letters.
I gladly accept one and locate my dorm building. It was an unreasonable distance to walk, especially with all of my bags, but at this point I think I need to cut down on the taxis. Who knew they were so expensive?
A thirty minute walk later, I'm at my dorm building. It doesn't take long to find door A12, and I quickly unlock the door.
"Hello?" I call out, dropping all of my things at once. I know I'll have a roomate, I had chosen one of the rooms with one, only because it was cheaper. I hope I have a good roomate.
"Hallo!" A distant voice calls back. "I'm on the loo, one second!"
I look around the dorm. A kitchen with plain white countertops and a small table seating two. There were French double doors leading to one room and simple black door leading to another. I assumed the black door lead to the bathroom.
Pushing open the French doors, I smile. There were two twin sized beds, and it was obvious my roomate had chosen hers. Her walls were covered with posters, One Rebulic, Birdy, random quotes, Sherlock, and Taylor Swift. My side of the room was empty.
"Hallo!" A voice pops up suddenly from behind me. I turn to face her. "I'm Hally. I was so excited to have a new roomate! My last one had a drinking problem." She was insanely pretty, with crystal blue eyes and bleached blonde hair and perfectly straight teeth.
"Wow, um, I'm sorry to hear that." I stand awkwardly. I don't know what to do with my hands. "I'm Anabelle, but I prefer Belle."
"Whoa, are you American?" Her mouth falls open.
"Um, yeah? Are you British?" I jokingly ask.
She laughs. "Yeah, yes I am. Wow, wait till I tell Gem I"ve got an American roomie!"
I'm curious to know who Gem is, but I don't ask. "So, do you mind helping me unpack? I've got loads of things."
She agrees, and we spend the afternoon like this.

At around five, we're done. I've gotten to know Hally a little more, like how she had a single mom growing up and always had to take care of her little brothers, and how she's decided to give up on guys until she's through with university.
"I'm hungry. You?" She rubs her stomach dramatically.
"Starved." I answer truthfully. I hadn't had anything since the peanuts on the plane.
After a short debate, we go meet her best friend, Gemma, for McDonalds.
"I love McDanlds more than life." Gemma proclaims loudly after we've stuffed ourselves with cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets. I was still having trouble figuring out British money, so Gemma ended up paying for me. I thanked her several times until Hally finally told me to shut up.
"You say that about, like, everything." Hally argues.
"Not true! I didn't say that about... Justin Beiber!" Gemma wipes a spare crumb from her sleeve.
"Um, because nobody likes him." I add. They agree.
"Oh my GOD, are you Gemma Styles?!" A short readhead screams, jumping right in front of us.
I give Gemma a confused look. She puts on a smile, "Yes, I am."
"Oh my God oh my God oh my God!" She jumps up and down and claps her hands. "Can I pretty please have your autograph?"
"Yeah, sure. Have you got a pen?" Gemma responds politely, a smile still plastered on her face.
The girl nods quickly and takes out a pen and paper from her handbag. Gemma signs her paper and takes a picture with the girl before she finally goes away.
Had I been walking around with a celebrity? "What was that?" I ask.
Gemma sighs. "Please don't think anything of it, ok?" I nod. "I'm Harry Styles sister."
