Cars rushed by, the multiple colors mixing into one of a dull gray. The gray matched in with the buildings and streets surrounding the vehicles. But you could see small bits of color here and there, a spray-painted symbol, notifying which gang owned the territory and their boarders.

I took a deep breath, allowing the heavy air to enter my lungs, the scent of the city leaving a print in my brain. The cool, smooth, metal of the vehicle door pressed against my skin as I shut it, allowing my eyes to land on a small, gray, office looking building, which had a sign hanging above it saying 'Trost City Police Department' in dark blue and yellow letters. I nervously fixed my shirt, being gentle with the pins and badges that could easily become tilted or twisted. Once I had finished making last minute fixes, I started my way across the street, waiting for the light to change colors, indicating when I could cross the asphalted path. As the light changed colors, I heard a woman let out a yell.

"Wait! Stop! Don't you dare!"

I turned, looking in the direction of the yell, seeing a male ripping a purse away from a woman. I jumped into action, making my way quickly down the street, but not in time. The male had succeeded and started sprinting away before I could cover half the distance. I didn't wait to check on the lady as I sprinted down the street, chasing the robber. I noticed his outfit, spotting a symbol that was similar to one painted on the walls. It was an image of two blades crossing each other. The thief made his way into a busy crowd, attempting to sneak through the swarm of bodies.

"Hey!" I shouted, frustrated with the crowd. "Come back here! Your under arrest!" The crowd parted slightly, allowing me to follow behind the shorter male, who had made it through the crowd long before I had. He turned to a dark alleyway, making his footsteps echo. I was just about to turn the corner when I spotted another person talking to the thief. I pulled myself back against the wall, slipping my pistol out of its holster, listening in on their conversation.

"Yeager! What the hell are you doing?!" A new male voice stated, clearly frustrated. I stuck my head around the corner, spotting owner of the voice. He looked to be slightly shorter than me, average build, two-toned hair, the top being a light ash brown, the bottom being darker. He wore a black t-shirt with dark blue jeans. His upper-right ear had two piercings and his right lip had a singular piercing as well.

"What does it look like I'm doing Kirstein? I'm getting the hell out of here!" The shorter male responded.

"That part was obvious but seriously? A woman's purse in front of the damn Police department? What the fuck were you thinking?" The male with the last name Kirstein stated, letting out a sigh, clearly agitated. "And do I have to even start with who's turf your on?"

"Oh please!" Yeager snapped back, letting out a laugh. "Your part of town rarely gets any problems so what's wrong with a little thievery here and their?"

"I don't want the cops coming after me! If your gang starts taking shit on my turf then I get the blame, you know that!" Their was a moment of silence between the two, before Kirstein spoke again. "That officer is still on your ass anyways."

I felt my blood run cold, feeling the venom coming from the simple statement. At that moment, I decided I couldn't wait any longer. I pulled myself around the corner, pistol in hand, aiming it at the two males.

"Hands in the air, your under arrest." I stated, feeling calmer then what I really was. The glare that the amber-eyed Kirstein gave was enough to make me want to take a step back.

"Mornin' Officer, glad to see you can do your job." Kirstein stated, his voice cold and emotionless. "I think you may want this." He reached over, snatching the black purse out of the shorter, green-eyed male's hands. He gave the bag a light toss, throwing it at my feet. "Now, if you don't mind, I have a meeting to get to and Yeager over here, probably has to get back to his sister. So, I'll be on my way." Kirstein turned, about to walk away, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
