Chapter 4

Journey's End

Starlingpaw opened her eyes, still thinking about mother. Starlingpaw knew that it been few moons before she recovered from her fall, Poppyshine came in and sat shifted her paws, as she dropped some catmint. " How are you doing?" questioned Poppyshine. " I am okay.." Starlingpaw sighed. " Hmmhmm, something bothering you, come on no secrets!" Poppyshine snapped, Starlingpaw backed up and as Poppyshine's anger melted away " I am sorry, I been so busy with my duties." She purred calmly, Starlingpaw gave a slight nod. " We are not clan-born, our parents were rogues!" Starlingpaw explained, her feeling were ready to burst out.

Mapleleaf came in, her fur ruffled and she flicked her tail to dismiss Poppyshine, Poppyshine turned and flashed a surprise and worry look before disappearing. " Are you well? Tonight is meeting of medicine cats since, we have to met at  Reflection Pool, since Twolegs destroyed it, Starlingpaw trotted with her mentor as Grasspool greeted them, " Hello, You seem well, Starlingpaw." Grasspool mewed, dipping her head. " Now, Just dip your paw in the water and then lick it." Mapleleaf added, Starlingpaw shifted her paw into cold water, swiping her pink tongue on her paw, she lied down and slept.

Her mother was there. " Hello.." Starlingpaw muttered, " I know, your upset... But your strong and alive." She mewed, stepping back. " Hello young one, I am Clovertail." Clovertail murmured, Few heartbeats passed, " We now know Starlingpaw as Starlingbreeze!" Starry cat shouted as cats echoed Starlingbreeze's name. Starlingbreeze woke up to see Mapleleaf and Grasspool talking, " Your awake Starlingpaw." Mapleleaf mewed, " Starlingbreeze" Starlingbreeze corrected Mapleleaf.

__Journey Cats___

Shadowglow woke up, she spotted Flamepaw's nest, It was empty and puffed out. Shadowglow got to her paws and sniffed the Flamepaw's nest, her nose felt coldness and stale scent. Shadowglow shot her head up and yowled, " Flamepaw is gone!" Troutfoot jumoed awake and darted to Shadowglow's side. " Where did she go?" Troutfoot asked, " I don't know!" Shadowglow meowed with worry, " This my fault, I was so mean to her." Troutfoot mewed, he let his shoulders drop and flatten his ears.

The two cats left the den, spotted orange fur lying in a patch of grass, " There!" Shouted Troutfoot as he ran over to bundle of fur, He gave it a sniff and purred " It fresh but it will get stale soon." Shadowglow nodded and found trail of Flamepaw's aroma, Shaodowglow ran and sniffed until aroma had ended, Flamepaw was asleep under shade of tall tree. " Flamepaw!" Shadowglow yelped as Flamepaw jolted awake, She immediately whipped around away from Shadowglow and ran deeper in unknown woods, " Wait! Stop!" Troutfoot shouted after her, " Mistake..not me." Flamepaw muttered.

Shadowglow forced herself to stop, Troutfoot stopped, sliding and making cloud of dust . " We don't know the woods well, only Flamepaw, since she traveled to our clans." Flamepaw's orange appearance disappeared in the distance. " We can follow her smell!" Troutfoot suggested "  Plus she kept saying, Mistake.. not me" Shadowglow lifted her head and met Troutfoot's amber eyes, " Really?" She asked as Troutfoot nodded. Shadowglow could feel breeze gently pressed against her fur as she paced along, following Flamepaw's recent scents. Troutfoot raced along Shadowglow, when they came to a dead end, it was wide rock wall that stood in front of them, just along wall, were few small caves, a log was sloped connecting to caves. Shadowglow drew in a breath and dug her claws in log, clambered to cave.

" Hmm, Seems she just passed this place!" Shadowglow mewed to Troutfoot, Strong wind smacked two cats, almost , making them fall over. Flamepaw spotted them and ran faster than she could, stopping at meadow with large forest, silky cloud swept across the sky. Flamepaw stopped and heaved in her breath as she gave up, " Flamepaw!" Shadowglow yelled. Flamepaw mad no effort to run, she let herself collapse, tears started race down her cheeks. "  Starclan made a stupid mistake, picking me!" She cried, her body felt nothing but sorrow. Shadowglow raced to Flamepaw's side, " Shhh, Shh, It's okay." Shadowglow whispered , her tail caress on Flamepaw's fur.

Flamepaw gotten up, " I feel better now" Flamepaw meowed with a small hiccup, " Look at this place! This would be a perfect home to have!" Troutfoot called, his tail swishing tips of grass, Sliver warrior was few fox length away.  Two she cats padded to tom and gazed upon the meadow, " W-wow!" Flamepaw gasped with gleaming eyes, " StarClan lead you here, Flamepaw." Shadowglow murmured as Flamepaw shook her head in agreement. " Our Journey has come to a end, we must go back and lead our clans to our new home." Shadowglow mewed wisely, her chin up and eyes shining as breeze brushed her fur.

Brightfrost ducked and exited the den, Needlestar was sittng at mouth of his den, black and white tom seemed tired and wrinkle showing under his eyes, Brightfrost trotted to him and sat near tom. " Are you okay? How many lives you got?" Brightfrost asked as Needlestar gave her exhausted look, " Not good.. not lives, just a life left." He croaked as he coughed. " I lost two lives from wound infection." He sighed as his paw  scraped the ground.

" You will lead the clan soon, I wish you luck." He purred croaky,  Brightfrost gave him a simple nod and trotted back to the den, Mapleleaf stared her, she beckon her tail, Brightfrost shrugged, " I know your a heartless killer" Mapleleaf growled as they exited the camp, Brightfrost shot her a dead look at Mapleleaf, Brightfrost grabbed Mapleleaf by scruff and banged her against a tree, quickly slicing medicine cat's throat, Mapleleaf choked and blood spilling everywhere.

" You made your last mistake.." Brightfrost hissed in dying cat's ear, smirk appeared. " Here let me help you go to Starclan" Brightfrost spoke quietly, Brightfrost gripped her teeth on spear stick and shoved into Mapleleaf's neck, as she made gurgle noise and let her head drop. Mapleleaf was dead and next was Needlestar. Brightfrost stomped away from lifeless body and as Needlestar narrowed his eyes into slits, As if he could barely make out who was who " Uhh.. Are you okay?" Brightfrost asked with fake concern, " Yes.. my vision is not as good as it used to be" Needlestar replied. " I found a badger den, I will take you." Brightfrost mewed as black and white tom nodded and pursued his loyal 'Trustworthy' deputy, " Here!" She whispered as fresh scent of badger drifted in, Brightfrost smiled and jumped on her leader, she pressed her paws on his throat until he choking and gasping for air, " What are you doing??!?!?" He panicked, blackness took over Needlestar's world as Brightfrost dragged and tossed him into bagder's home.

Needlestar gain consciousness, but it was too late. The badger was already tearing him apart as  he let a yowl of agony. Brightfrost spun around and headed back to camp as if nothing had happen. Brightfrost slipped into the camp and jumped on high slope rock and she held back a laugh of joy as she yelped " Cats Of SpruceClan! Needlestar was killed while he went to investigate a badger den" She spoke with half true words. Yowls of sorrow echoed, " Needlestar has bees in his brain if he went to a badger den!" A cat called out.

 I am now leader,  I will make this stupid clan better than it  can be!

One STARCLAN give full medicine cat names to apprentices, yea it just tradition for these clans!!
