It might seem unreal. You will experience it. Just give it some time.
Time...........
THE TIME!!!I quickly arose from my decent sleep. I smacked my alarm clock as I stretched my arms. "Ow," I said shaking off the minor pain.
7:45 am
"OH NOOOOO!"
I sprinted off my bed into the bathroom right across from my room. Locked. It was always such a morning when I knew my older sister was in there first.
"Shoot" I mumbled under my breath. I knew from right that moment that I was going to be late for school.
"OPEN UP BECA!" I began slamming on the door.
"HOLD ON!" She shouted from the other side. Typical.
My older sister Beca is in 12th grade leading a perfect high school life. What with her boyfriend, her popularity, her crazy obsession with name brand gear, and that she's in the cheerleading squad. My high school life compared to hers was nothing. Of course her morning routine would be totally off if she didn't do her damn makeup.
"Beca, COME ON!" I slammed again. I ended up waking my mom with her grumpy attitude.
"Could you girls be any louder?" She said grunting.
Beca finally opened up. She looked at mom surprised and walked herself to her room to finish up.
"Let me go in." My mom half whispered to me.
"Ugh, great." I said to myself.8:24am
"Hey Jess." My friend Sam walked up to me.
I looked over to see her wearing something different than she wore yesterday. It was cute.
"Hey Sammie, nice outfit." I complimented her.
Sam was lucky. She was born into a nice family who had money and are actually NICE. My family compared to hers was nothing.
"Hey I know it's only the first week of school, but doesn't mean you shouldn't begin to look for him." Sam directed me.
"Oh sure, why don't I just stand on the table and say Oh Romeo, where thou are you Romeo?" I said with exaggeration.
Sam laughed and responded, "You know you shouldn't be afraid to take your shot." She smirked at me.
"Oh yeah, like any guy is going to hook up with a weirdo drama art freak like me who also wears big t-shirts." I said clearly.
She just shook her head and said, "I promise I will stop if you just at least say hi to a boy." She pleaded me.
"You want me to say hi to one of those pervert idiots who only care about looks? Sure! Why don't I just get a belly piercing and highlights in my hair to fit in with all their girlfriends?" I stared directly at Sam.
"Oh whatever." She said while walking away.
I guess in a way, Sam kind of got on my nerve with that topic. Whatever happened to us talking about cartoons and movies? It all seems so unreal now that we're in 10th grade.12:44pm
I took a quick glance at my notebook to indicate that I was working. Then I looked up and saw a boy sitting across from my table. Someone new.
"Jess, my bro!" Greg walked over to me.
"Hey Greg," I said as he greeted me with his usual bro handshake.
"How was your summer?" He said with a wide smile.
"Normal. Camp, grandma, usually how all my summers go."
"Man, you should've come with me and the boys. We broke into a 7 eleven one night and those cops couldn't even run!" He said almost breaking into hard laughter.
I giggled, "Guess I could've, but you know how my mom is. No boys and no night time fun."
"Ah, boo." He said while walking away, but then turned and asked, "Will you at least come to my football game this afternoon?"
"Sure why not." I responded back.
He made a cheerful reaction to my response and began walking away.
I always liked hanging out with the non perverted boys. But as soon as I realized it, I knew all of the popular girls would be at the game watching the guys play. Even Gena.
I began to lose myself in thought when someone bumped into me on accident knocking me out of my self consciousness.
"Oh sorry." He said while walking past.
It was the new boy. I simply waved it off like it was okay, but something was off. As he bumped into me I got a smell of something good. Like cologne, but not too much. It satisfied me.
My eyes began following him. Sam appeared out of no where.
"Jess," Sam poked me.
I panicked and silently screeched then looked at Sam who was staring at me in confusion.
"Yes, that's my name." I answered back.
"You okay?" She asked.
I looked for the new boy. He wasn't in sight.
"Yep I'm alive." I proudly answered.
She smirked then shrugged and we linked arms once it was time to go outside for free period.
