I woke up with a startle as I felt blood seep down my face. "ugh, are you freaking kidding me?" I groaned as I pushed myself up and ran to the bathroom. It was seven forty in the morning on a Saturday and this is not how I wanted to spend my day. I wiped the left over blood off my upper lip and trudged to my moms room. I slipped in slowly and jumped into her bed. I slowly snuggled up to her side and hugged her. We laid like this for about twenty minutes until the door slowly opened and I heard tiny shuffles coming towards the bed.
"Mommy, I had a bad dream," I heard Cassy whimper.
"Come here, baby girl, come lay with mommy and toots." Cassy nodded and climbed in the bed next to me hugging on to me as tight as she could. she was definitely going to leave a bruise but I couldn't care less. I was the happiest I had been in months just lying there with my mom and my little sister. We lied down for another fifteen minutes each of us were playing with eachothers hair until we heard the doorbell shrill. It was now half past eight and mom went to go answer the door.
"No, you need to leave," I heard my mom attempt to get the unwanted visitor to leave. My mom heard my hesitant footsteps and hurridly whispered, "we're not interested goodbye."
She slammed the door shut with finality and her eyes looked slightly glossy. I didn't want to ask her what was going on becuase I am just so tired of all this sadness. I smiled at my mom and gave her a look that could be interpreted as letting whatever it was go. I was about to walk into the kitchen to meet up with Cassidy and make her breakfast when my doorbell rang once again. I started walking to the door when my mom flew out of no where and offered to answer it. I moved aside before my mom had a chance to trample me.
"Oh, hey Trenton, dear, how are you," I heard my mom say and I ran giddily to the door and yanked it open further. It was a fast movement and if i was a super hero, it would have just flown off the hinges.
"Trent!" I squealed excitedly and threw myself into his warm embrace. At the the sound of Trent's name, Cassidy cam barreling in with a lovesick look on her face. She smiled a huge smile and ran up to where we were just hugging. Trent now had his arm lazily thrown over my shoulder and this did not go unnoticed by my little sister. A scowl had etched its way onto her face and she crossed her arms expectantly. I felt Trent release me out of his grip and he bent down so that he could be face to face with Cassidy. He opened his arms wide and she happily ran into his arms as he hoisted her up. She was a dinky little thing of around fifty pounds. She turned to look at me and tried her little wink that was absolutely adorable.
Now with Cass taking residence in his arms, Trenton looks to me and smiles. "I was wondering if you wanted to go to the small lake about forty minutes from here ClaireBear. Ashtyn brought his boat and some jet skis and all that fun stuff. What do you say?"
I nodded and looked to my mom for approval. She nodded and smiled. I wooped and jumped into the air. "When are we leaving?"
"As soon as possible, Ashytn is hooking up his boat to the truck and I just came over here to ask my favorite girl if she wanted to come."
"Well, then why didn't you ask her?" I heard a tiny voice ask. I laughed out loud and Cassidy whipped around and gave me a look that could freeze hell.
"Of course you can come Cass, come on let's go get you into that new swimsuit that looks so fab on you," I gushed to Cass causing her frown to turn gleeful once again. Cass raced off to her room and I turned to give Trent a sorry face for just inviting a six year old to our little boat escapade. He just smiled and hugged my mom and walked out of our house. I smiled in appreciation for Trenton and trotted off to Cassidy's room.
