We finally check out and go back to the school. I make way inside and sit on the bench that follows the stained filled walls.

I see my friend Alexandra, she sits by me. Devon leans against the door and Danni continues to the gym looking for Destiny.

"I hate life." I joke lacking my conversation skills.

Devon looks at me sarcastically angry.

"Me too." Alex replies.

Devon then comes over and sits on me. "Oh my lord! Devon get off!" I yelp while laughing.

He wiggles his hips to dig them into my thigh. I cry inside, though it's withstand-able pain.

I then jump off and run away. Every couple of seconds I check behind me to see if he's chasing me, he isn't. I next run around the corner and pull out my hair tie fixing my hair. I redo my bun and then see him run rapidly towards me.

I scream. He runs out the doors behind me and I decide to follow. I hear and see the heavy down fall of pure, fresh, Oregon rain. "Yay it's raining!" I share enjoyably. He smiles.

He knows I love rain and I know he hates it. The door closes shut behind me. "Oh no," he looks at me. "You know we're locked out here right?"

I laugh, "who cares?" He then pinches my thigh. "Ouch!" I hiss jokingly.

He picks me up. "Devon stop!" I freak working my way out of the situation.

He looks at me. "Why won't you look at me?" He wheaps.

Due to embarrassment I cover my face. "I feel ugly." I laugh.

"You're not." He puts me down and grabs my hand. I grasp his index finger.

"Yes I am." I say while playing with his finger.

He holds me tightly and we stare at the rain. A car then drives by and he quickly releases me while backing away.

"You don't even want to be see with me." I shy away walking out into the rain knowing it's the truth as I stand in a puddle of denial. Just like I knew he liked Hylah more than me, lowkey.

He comes to the edge of the cement and inch away from where the rain falls. "No I don't." He lies.

It gets quiet. I laugh. "What?" He bothers.

"Oh nothing," I try, "you won't even come into the rain you hate it so much." I laugh again.

I then run under a tall tree standing alone on a patch of grass, isolated, lonely and lost in an area of civilization.

"Look, come under this tree with me." I pull my hands out of my hoodie's pocket feeling for the rain. "It isn't even wet!" I sarcastically say as I get more soaked by the second.

He laughs. I knew that meant no so I went back to the caved section we were safe from the rain in before. He hugs me, feeling my wet hair as he's pulling the hair tie out.

"It's wet," I laugh.

"I know." He continues eventually pulling it out.

I settle my hair into its place. He plays with it. "You're enjoying this aren't you?" He says after a moment of pure silence except for the rain.

I reply with a laugh. After, I pull out my phone and realize my mom will be here soon to pick me up. "We should go back." I attempt, knowing him.

We go inside and before the door even closed behind us he grabbed me reeling me in.

"Devon I have to go soon." I worry, wanting to be free.

"No." He drags on whining.

I luckily pull away, put my hair back up and sit on the bench down the hall. He sits by me. I whip out my phone and it reads 4:50. My mom would be here in 10.

He then takes my phone and opens the camera aiming it at my disgusting face. I run away hiding myself before he captures the shot.

"Don't!" I squeak.

He laughs. "Come sit by me, we need to take a selfie together."

I slowly walk over to him and he places me on his lap. Next he snaps a pick of him looking at me as I cover my distraught ugliness.

( Picture is at the top of this chapter).

I take my phone back and view it. I'm flattered at the way he's looking at me. Adorable.

I then edit it to black and white and set it as my lock screen and home screen wallpaper. I stand back up.

"I gotta go." I head around the corner for the double doors.

He follows. We make it to the end of the hall and I realize Alex is gone. "Where's Alex?" I ask the kid lying on the ground.

He lifts his hat off his head realizing he was being spoken to. "She left." He bluntly replies placing his hat back over his eyes.

"Fuck... Jesus, okay." I bitch to myself as Devon sits on the bench.

I see a few kids approach the door. It's cross country members. They're all waiting for the bus till 5:30 for a meet.

They come in and Devon starts making conversation with them as I awkwardly stand still wanting to go home.

In desperate needs I make up an excuse. "I'm going to walk to my moms work. I don't mind I like the rain." I say as the wind picks up and the rain falls heavier.

Devon makes a sad face. I smile back and leave walking in the rain. I shield my head with my binder as I see my mom pull in. I hop into the car and she takes me home.

As she drives I look out my window viewing the eye consuming rain. It always lifts my mood. I listen to it, smiling at the thought of him and our future together. He made me uncomfortable sometimes but I liked him a lot, more than I liked anyone in a long time.
