Chapter 6: The Bet?

It was 1am, Anthony just asked me to be his girlfriend and I accepted. I was about to go to sleep until I heard someone knock on my door. I opened it to see Aiden standing their, smiling. I asked "What are u doing here?" He said "I really need to ask you something." I gave him a curious look and waited for him to continued. He continued "Will you be my girlfriend?" I sighed and said "Sorry, but no. Anthony and I are dating. He asked me earlier today." He sighed and said "Okay." He left not saying another word. I was confused and conflicted.

Did Aiden actually like me?

Do I have feelings for Anthony?

I just don't know anymore. Everything is so confusing and no one would actually care enough to listen. I woke up the next morning feeling more tired. I got ready for the day and sat on my bed. I heard Dean call my name, I got up and went downstairs. He stood their with Luke, Aiden, and Anthony. I stepped down each step, slowly. Feeling awkward, I asked "Whats going on?" They looked at me. Dean took Luke and Aiden into the other room. Left me with Anthony, I asked "What are you doing here?" He sighed and said "I came to take you out tonight." I smiled and said "Okay, it's a date?" I was unsure what to say. He nod his head and said "I actually want to take you out right now, so lets go somewhere." I smiled and said "Okay let me just get some shoes." I grabbed my converse and my phone. I headed out with Anthony, we decided to walk. He took me to the park near my house. 

He took out a cigarette, I was a little hesitate but I didn't care. He asked "Want one?" I shook my head and said "I don't smoke." He said "oh okay." After his cigarette, we walked around for a little bit. We stopped, Aiden was standing in front of us. I was confused and kinda concerned. Aiden walked up to Anthony and said "What the hell! You knew I liked her and you decided to ask her out! You are fucked up." I stepped in and asked "Whats going on?" Aiden looked at me and said "Anthony, decided to ask you out because he knew I liked you. He doesn't actually have feelings for you." I shook my head and walked away. Before I could take 2 steps, Anthony grabbed my arm. He said "Samantha, please don't do this." I pushed him and walked away. I went home after that.

I laid on my bed, hoping that things wouldn't get as bad as they get. I heard my phone ring. It was Alice texting me.

Hey, did you hear? Theirs a bet going around school with ur brother's friends. Their betting on a girl, I just don't know who.

Oh really? Let me ask.

I got up from my bed, I was about to ask them but I heard them talking. 

Luke said "Aiden, did you seal the deal yet?" I could hear Aiden chuckling, he said "Nah man. Anthony got in my way. I think he was trying to win the bet." Luke chuckled and said "Well you better get to Sammy first or he will win." I shut my door quietly so they wouldn't hear. The bet was about me. One question struck my mind. 

Why?

Why did they create the bet?

Does Dean know? 

I laid in my bed and stared at the ceiling. I soon drifted off to sleep, getting lost in my thoughts. Was everything a game? Did they think it was a game for them? 

I woke up the next morning to my alarm blaring in my ear. It was Monday morning, and I had to face my fear. Talking to Anthony. I got dressed and went downstairs to see Dean ready to leave. I asked "Dean, what are you doing?" Dean looked at me and said "Luke is going to pick me up today. I got Anthony to drive you." Without another word, he walked out the door. I didn't want to talk to Anthony now. I just couldn't, but I had to. I grabbed converse and my phone. I decided to sit on the porch for Anthony. Anthony pulled up in my driveway on his motorcycle. I grabbed my bag and got on. 

He sped up and we arrived at the school minutes later. I got off his motorcycle and walked to class. Before I could take 2 steps, he grabbed my arm and said "We need to talk." I sighed and said "Okay. Let's talk." He smiled a little bit and said "Good. Don't listen to Aiden. You are very special." I chuckled and said "Oh really? Well tell me this. Am I just a bet to you?" His face dropped once I mentioned the 'Bet.' He asked "How did you hear about that?" I sighed and said "I heard Luke and Aiden talking about it. They didn't know I was listening." Anthony tried to get closer to me but I backed away. He said "Samantha, you have to believe me. You were not a stupid bet for me." I sighed and said "I don't believe you. Goodbye Anthony." I left not saying another word.

I haven't seen Anthony for the rest of the day. Every time he was in the hallway, I would avoid him. I just couldn't deal with his bull shit anymore. He had lied to me so many times and now the stupid bet. He actually thought I liked him. Well, maybe I do? I just don't know anymore. I just am done with everything. 

Why would he bet on me?

Did he want me to find out?

Probably not, but still. It was now time for lunch, I sat down with Alice and Jessie. I was just not ready for their bull shit. I could hear Dean calling my name from his table. I got up and walked over to their table. They smiled and seemed happy to see me, even Anthony. I said "I don't want any of you talking to me. I know about the bet you made on me." All their faces dropped, I continued "I over heard Luke and Aiden talking about it." I walked away without them saying a word. My life was starting to get complicated and I did not like it.
