Beeps. Lots of them.

A siren.

Whirrs and stirs of machines filled her ears as she breathed in dozily. She opened her eyes slowly. She saw nothing but a flash of red. She quickly closed her eyes again. Stale air opened her lungs up. She coughed. Her head was cluttered and heavy. She felt a funny tingly sensation in her lungs.

She tried opening her eyes again. A flash of white. She must be dreaming. She fell asleep at once.
