A/N Hey guys! This is a chapter told through David's Pov! Enjoy!
Empty. That's how I feel laying on my bed, stating at my ceiling.
My mom came in earlier and opened up the window to "let in some fresh air". I didn't speak, or move, nothing.
The wind picked up and stung my cheeks. After a moment I breathed in a heavy scent.
Pumpkin Spice, just like Hailey.
I sat up, this is the first time I've moved since she told me...goodbye.
I dug under my bed for a box. I opened the lid carefully and stared at the contents inside. My stomach began to churn as my heart sunk deep.
I pulled out the papers, I immediately saw Hailey's handwriting, I pulled out another stack. They were all my responses to her letters.
I went and read through every one. No more tears could fall though.
I walked to my desk and pulled out paper and a pencil. I started to write.
Dear Hailey,
I miss you. I miss you so much.
I don't really know what to say, I have so much yet nothing at all. I love you baby, I always have. I should've said it sooner, maybe you'd still be here with me.
I should've taken you. I should've stolen you before your parents could find you. But I was a coward.
I can't sleep, eat, function without you. I wish you wouldn't have done that. Why baby, why did you take the easy way out? I know it's easy for you, but it's so hard on everyone around you. I don't understand why you did it, I know you wanted out. I know you wanted to escape the Asylum, but baby that wasn't the way.
I've been thinking really hard. I know I said you shouldn't have taken the easy way out. But now I am too.
I can't live without you, I just can't. I want to join you. So I am.
I have so much more to say, but it won't matter. I'll see you soon baby.
Love you,
David.I heard the doorbell ring, but I didn't let it stop me.
I went to the bathroom and grabbed a bottle of pills.
This will do.
I gulped a handful and sat on the floor.
The tiles were cool, the bathroom was quiet. I felt so good. Everything felt right.
This felt right.
I let out my breath as everything started to fade out. I smiled, then I heard the door open.
"David? David!" I heard the distance voice fading away more and more.
Someone shook me, their hands were warm. I heard their voice.
"David! Don't leave me! Oh David, what have you done?"
I recognized the voice, everything had gone black.
"David, why!" They were sobbing. She was sobbing.
"Hailey-"
Everything went silent, I had left the world behind.
