"Phew!" I exclaimed as I was finally done unpacking my last box into my new room.

My parents were like gypsies. They never agreed with one house. Year after year we changed houses like babies changing diapers. Okay that was a gross reference. But i guess you get what I'm saying.

"God this is so tiring!" Olivia whined.

Olivia Parkers, my one and only bff. The girl who pested me about looking presentable and trying new things in life. If it wasn't for her I would be totally lost.

"Yeah, you seem really tired!" I commented, my voice dripped with sarcasm."and all you did was... Drink a bottle of soda while watching me do the work!"

"Well, its tiring watching you complain 99% of the time."she exclaimed.

"Hey girls, are we all done?" Mom said as she walked into the room.

"Yip, just got done with the last box."

"That's good, just came up to tell you that lunch is almost ready." She said with a loving smile.

Mom was barely at home. She was always caught up with work just like dad. They both had very busy jobs and hardly ever had free time. Not that I was complaining because I surely wasn't. It gave me more time to spend with Olivia.

"Okay, we'll be down in a few minutes." I said smiling back at her.

~~

I didn't really know my neighbours. Not that I was going to get attached or anything because I knew it wouldn't last long. But sometimes it would be nice to make new friends.

I looked out the window that had a view of the house opposite mine. Maybe there was a friendly girl I could make friends with.

Mum decided that Olivia and I should have a little picnic in the yard.

As we sat the blanket down, we noticed little children running around.

"Ash, come over here and look at this adorable little baby." Olivia yelled as she was surrounded by the kids.

As I walked up to them , I saw a little boy. He had big brown eyes and the chubbiest cheeks ever. He was adorable!!!

We invited the kids to join us at our picnic and they gladly accepted. As time went by, we played little games with them and the sun began to set.

Olivia and I agreed on waiting until all the kids were gone home until we packed up. But she got a phone call and had to leave.

As I got up to put the food away I notices that a little girl was still with us.

"Hey little doll. Did you enjoy it here today?" I asked it a sweet tone.

"Yes, thank you for letting me play here!" She said in the most cutest voice ever.

"You very welcome to come whenever you like." I offered her.

"I'm sure she'd love to, but maybe next time she should let her worried brother know where she's going." said someone from behind me. As I turned around I came face to face with a tall boy with light brown eyes. His hair was messy but it looked hot. Wait what? I just met the dude! Control yourself woman!

"Oh! I knew I forgot something! Im so sorry." The little girl said with tears in her eyes.

"Its okay Mia just don't forget next time." He said.

She ran off towards her house which just happened to be the one opposite mine. omg! Does that mean he lives there too? Well there goes my plan of making friends with a girl.

"Hello." He said looking at me

"Who? Me hello?" I said, turning to look behind me to see if he was talking to someone else. Why would he talk to me? No one ever spoke to me.

"Well  I don't think I would be  talking to the wall behind you, know would I ?"

"No" it came out more like a squeak.

He burst out laughing. While I stood there with a slightly shocked expression, he was doubling over in laughter.

"Mind sharing the joke?" I said with an annoyed tone.

"I'm going to make sure we get to know each other better, but for now, I gotta go" he said after his chuckle fit.

Okaaay...
