"Come in," I heard him say when I knocked.
I nervously turned the doorknob and stepped into his study. I looked around and saw him sitting behind his desk. He looked up to meet my eyes. "Oh, it's you," he said and looked down at his work. "How may I help you?"
His tone sounded very weird. It was not exactly mean, but there was no kindness like all other people in the house had towards me. Does he dislike me for being a Slytherin?
"I was wondering if you could help," I started at him, earning his stare back on me. "What kind of help?"
"I told you about my parents yesterday,"
"Mhm?" he furrowed his eyebrow curiously.
"I thought may be you could help me find who were they," I swallowed loudly in nervousness. What if he will decline? There will be no way I would ever come to know about them.
"But why do you think I can help you with that?" he said closing his books and fully concentrating on what I was telling.
"I read a book. That book had the list of parselmouth ever known. You were the only alive one on the list so far," I said.
"What is it to do with the parselmouth?"
"I'm a parselmouth too, Mr. Potter" first time ever my deepest darkest secret was out.
The expression that Mr. Potter had on his face was un-explainable. His eyes went wide and his mouth dropped down in shock. But I could sense some sort of fear in his eyes. And some... disappointment, anger, rage, I don't know what not.
"He must be right... But how can that be possible...? No, she can't be..." he suddenly started to murmur to himself which I couldn't make any sense out of.
"Excuse me?"
"Um, I would like you to meet someone. I think day after tomorrow will be a good time because tomorrow isn't possible. You need to meet him," he said out of nowhere. Is there someone else who could help me too? But who could that be?
The rest of the day I spent with kids, making them a bird or dragon out of paper. Hugo was weird because he said he wanted a spider made out of paper. Though I did as he requested.
Spending time with those kids were fun, I almost forgot about what Mr. Potter had said.
"Guess who else is coming this Christmas!" Molly exclaimed in excitement at dinner. She said me to call her by her name because "granny" sounds old for her. "Fred?" Lily asked in excitement. "No, darling, he wont be there," Molly said sadly. "Victorie, Dominique and Louis will be here," Mrs. Potter added.
All the kids squealed in excitement. I turned my questioning stare to Ted and he explained, "they three are other more cousins of them," he whispered and I nodded. Teddy had said it earlier, but damn, this is a really huge family!
Just then, a thought crossed my mind.
Do I have any cousins like they do? Is it possible that I will ever find my relatives?
"They are coming tomorrow," Molly's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Victorie is of our age unlike those little kids and her sister Dominique is a years younger than us so we will get more company. I might be excluded from girls talk though," Ted said and chuckled.
"Don't say that, you will never be excluded," I said and nudged at him.
"Well, we'll see that,"
And the next day, they came. The two girls looked like twins just the difference was one was a bit taller and had shorter hair then other. I was actually surprised that shorter was Victorie and taller was Dominique. They had a small brother, Louis who must be around 10 year old who had same kind of golden blonde hair and pale skin like his sisters.
"Ted!" Shorter one exclaimed and hugged Teddy as tightly as she could ever. Just then, some weird feeling crossed into me. A ping in my heart. I looked away quickly trying to hide the jealousy.
"Vic, you're too tight," Ted chuckled. "I mean, your hug," he corrected when he got a wide eye stare from Dominique. I saw his hair turn pastel blue and I giggled at him.
"Hey girl, I don't know whoever you're but we are gonna be great friends," Victorie said and pulled me into a short hug before pulling away and went on hugging and kissing all the other kids before I could even say anything. "You never told me you would bring a girl with you," she turned to Ted and gave him a sly smile.
"Vic is always crazy," Dominique said and smiled at me. "I'm Dominique, that's Victorie and that's Louis," she pointed to her brother who rushed into the living room for playing with the kids.
"I'm Delphini," I said and smiled back at her and we eventually pulled into a short hug. We greeted their parents too. Her father had a deep scar on his cheek which seemed pretty much cool to me. That scar actually suited his face. But I decided not to ask about it because it might contain some dark story behind it.
At night, after dinner we 3 girls decided to stay up talking the whole night. They said they attended Beauxbatons school. And we came to know about lots in the night. They both were so nice, I thought there was no negative blood running in this family because the entire family was so nice to me I didn't even feel like I was not part of their family.
"By the way, you like Ted, isn't it?" Dominique asked excitedly. "Oh em gee, really!?" Victorie exclaimed and dramatically put her hands on her mouth. "No, we are just friends," I said and formed a small smile. My own comment hurt me like anything.
This 'liking him' is getting too strong, I need to stop it before it will eat me up! I'm sure Ted just considers me as a friend, there wont be anything more than friendship, isn't it...?
