Homecoming

Dani's PoV

After I left Rebekah, I got a phone call from Damon informing me that Katherine had succeeded in waking Mikael.

"Damon what do you want?" I snap, answering my phone.

"Katherine woke Mikael," he states.

I stop in my tracks, "what?"

"You don't sound happy. I mean we can finally get rid of klaus for good," Damon replies.

I breathe heavily, "what makes you think we can even trust Mikael? How do you know he won't just kill us afterwards?"

"I don't but it's a risk I'm willing to take," he says.

"Well, I'm going home at the moment, but Elena and I can meet you at the boarding house tomorrow morning," I state.

"Yeah. Alright."

With that I hand up the phone.

Elena and I walk into the Salvatore's living room, spotting Stefan and Damon stood there with a middle aged man.

I walk up to him,"so you're the infamous Mikeal?"

He smirks, "yes I am dear. And you are?"

I stare at him uncomfortable, "Danielle Gilbert."

He puts his hand out and I slowly but carefully shake it.

He then turns to Elena, "you must be the doppelgänger."

She nods, "my name is Elena Gilbert."

He grins, looking between us.

I got an eerie feeling that he was planning something himself, something the others weren't aware of.

"So what's the plan?" I ask taking a seat next to Stefan on the sofa.

"We're gonna lure Klaus back to mystic falls," Damon states.

I roll my eyes, "and how are we going to do that?"

He grins at me.

Later that evening Stefan is calling Klaus.

He immediately answers. I focus really carefully.

"Portland is fantastic. Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people, it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves," Klaus informs Stefan.

Stefan ignores him, "Your father is dead."

The line goes silent.

"What did you say to me?" Klaus asks, angry.

Stefan laughs, "Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?"
