The tardy bell rang as Keith just barely reached the classroom door. People were talking to each other all around the room. He even saw some people on their phones, or sitting on top of the desks. Keith walked to an empty desk in the back of the room in the corner.

He set down his things, and took out a book. The title read, Moby Dick. He laid his cheek against his palm, quietly reading the novel. Lance followed his 'locker buddy' into the classroom. When the Cuban male laid his eyes on Keith, his eyes glossed up as he ran up to the raven haired boy.

"Hey Keith," he called out to the boy in the corner of the room.

Keith looked up at Lance, who was running up to him. Keith just fixed his tie, continuting to read the book. He gave the brown haired boy a suspicious glare, then ignored him.

"Keith, since we're in the same class, do you think we could sit next to each other?" Lance asked the raven haired male who was reading.

Keith didn't respond. He only glanced at Lance, and kept reading the book.

"So, is that a 'yes'?" asked Lance, leaning his head towards Keith.

"What does it look like dork?" Keith retorted, pushing his glasses up.

"Looks like a yes to me." Lance said, taking a seat in front of Keith.

"Wait, what? No, I didn't mean that!" Keith exclaimed, looking at Lance with wide eyes.

"Alright students, settle down. We have a new student in the class; my 'brother', Keith Kogane." Shiro said, his hand reaching out to Keith.

Keith closed his book and looked up at Shiro. The bigger male wore a smile that Keith loved seeing, a smile that made him feel loved in the world. Because he was orphaned at a really young age, he didn't really have anyone to turn to when he felt upset or angry. Shiro was only a couple of years older than Keith, and they just kinda, hit it off from there. The two bros, seeing the world, adjusting to their environment.

Keith and Shiro had moved from town to town every couple of years. They had just moved into the area about two days ago, and during those two days, Keith had stayed locked up in the house, reading, drawing, and spending time with Shiro of course.

The raven haired individual slowly walked up to the front of the room, his hand gripping his arm. Keith mumbled a few words, but managed to introduce himself to his classmates. Lance shot up from his seat screaming, "YEAH, THAT'S MY FRIEND UP THERE!! YOU ROCK KEITH!!"

Shiro glared at Lance, and gestured him to sit down in his seat. When Lance said those words, Keith could feel his heart pounding faster, his face going red, was he feeling, flustered? He calmed down, and gave Lance the death stare instead. Lance's eyes went wide, chills climbing up his spine, and slowly sat back down.

As class started, Shiro was talking about what the semester was going to be mostly about. Keith paid attention (as usual), and Lance was sleeping at his desk. When the bell rang, Keith shook Lance's shoulder so they could head to their next class, which was PE.

Oh how Keith HATED that class. All the running, all the disgusting sweat that came from his armpits and forehead. Keith DESPISED P.E. Lance on the other hand, didn't mind P.E. He always did stretching and yoga on the weekend with Hunk, so he was used to the grueling work they did. Keith walked into the locker room, unsure of where to go. Lance had the locker next to Keith, (what a coincidence, right?) and showed the way to his locker. Locker 411 was Lance's locker, and Keith's locker was 412.

As Keith quickly changed into his PE clothes, he grabbed a hair tie from his bag. He tied his mullet up in a little ponytail. Lance flushed a bright red on his cheeks, as he changed into his PE clothes. Keith looked at Lance saying, "What, never seen a ponytail or something?"

"Y-yes I have. B-but, not on a b-boy before...." Lance stuttered, covering his eyes.

"Dude, it's not like I'm nude or anything, you don't have to cover your eyes. You know that, right?" Keith said, walking out of the aisle.

"I KNOW, but you have a p-ponytail!" Lance stammered out.

"And,"

"AND, ONLY GIRLS HAVE PONYTAILS!" Lance finished, pointing at Keith's mullet.

"How sexist! Boys can have ponytails too ya' know! I'll be outside if you need me. Oh, and one more thing," Keith whispered.

"What's that?" asked Lance, shrugging.

"Never call me your friend, ever again. We are NOT friends, and we will never be friends. We are only acquaintances, understand, McClain?" Keith said only a little louder than a whisper, grabbing Lance's shirt, their faces only inches apart.

Lance gulped and nodded saying, "U-understood sir,"

"Good." Keith said, letting go of the brown haired boy's shirt. He pushed his glasses up, leaving the locker room.

Woah, this one's feisty. Lance thought to himself, breathing in and out slowly. He soon closed his locker, and exited the locker room as well.
